Hi there,
At the AFN, there are two pressure converters (i.e., electrically controlled air valves) that are almost identical in design.
Once, the N75 valve, which supplies vacuum to the VTG turbocharger.
Then there's the N18 module, which controls the EGR valve.
Can the valve for the EGR control also be used as an N75?
The part numbers are different, but as far as I can tell, the only difference lies in the connector type of the electrical connection.
Is that correct?
Regards,
Jens.

They are reversed, but they function perfectly fine.
For VW/Audi (Skoda), it's available for 35 Euros, part number 1JO 906 627 A [N75]. It's the same as the one for VW Audi, which costs 88 Euros! B.Eng (FH) u. KFZ Meister

Hi Jens,
Otherwise, this part should also be available at automotive parts stores.

Bought a new N75, and it's working again.
I'll take the old one apart and examine it sometime.

I bought it from a Volkswagen dealership because there aren't any SEAT dealerships nearby, and I was in a hurry.
I would have preferred to order directly from Pierburg, but that would have taken too long at this point.
I'm getting a high discount tier from Volkswagen, which makes it slightly less painful (though it's still an exorbitant price). Golf is from VW .
And all dealers can order this part as soon as they have the part number.
I also get good percentages, but I prefer to apply them to the cheaper items . Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

The strange LD (load dump) behavior of my partner's car, despite the easily adjustable VTG (variable turbine geometry), now also smells like a worn-out N75 valve.
The part number 1HO 906 627 A is installed, and Volkswagen now reportedly charges around €90 for it; the part number 1J0... is listed at €39.
Question:
Could they possibly differ in the type of electrical connection?
The Ibiza models equipped with the N18 and N75 connectors use the older style connector with the steel wire locking clip, while most other small connectors already have this fiddly plastic locking tab.
If I order the cheaper 1J0...N75 part, do I also need a newer cable connector at the same time? Gruß Ulf

The round connector also needs a matching plug because the pins are very thin and need to be water-resistant.
You might be able to find a round connector used from a defective wiring harness at your local dealer's parts department.
I have new square steel staples available in size 7.21 x 0.3.
7.21903.70, square shape, and 059 906.627 C (round connector), used, functional but without warranty. Gruß, der Teileklaus

Hi Ulf,
I'm not entirely sure, but I also looked into this difference in growth at one point.
- The plugs are different.
- There are valves that have a mini-filter instead of the ATM hose (for the air filter or something), so they only have two hose connectors.
Jan might still be able to help out with the Ibiza ASV and take a look at it.
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation. Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.

I can do that; I'll work on the car tomorrow, so it fits in well with my schedule .
It's very likely that I also have the version with steel brackets, because the car is only slightly younger than Ulf's.
"If I can access the part without disassembly, I can also check the part number; it's usually enough to just see if it's a Golf 3 (1H) or a Golf 4 (1J). The car itself is quite an interesting mix of Golf 3 compatible chassis components and Golf 4 drivetrain technology."

Ulf:
"If you need the connector housings, please find out the VW part number. Then I'll put a used connector plus 2 new crimp contacts and 2 wire sealing plugs into an envelope for you."
You only need a crimping tool for the connectors... VW is outrageous to charge so much for the connectors (€2.02), the repair cable with connectors (€1.56), and the two seals (€1.00). It's a rip-off.
If it's a connector housing, and I have some used ones in stock, you can have one for free from me.
Best regards,

Sure.
Since I'm a chronic collector of socket housings, I'm sure the right one will be there.
Are they all collected, carefully sorted, and pinned up, etc.?

7.21903.70 | square and 059 906.627 C (round connector) used, functional but without warranty. } So, according to the documentation, the part is likely related to the 1J0... The connector itself seems to be 1J0973722.
But I'll get the valve first – I might even have something suitable myself in my toolbox...
P.S.: We were unable to read any part numbers from the existing Ibi steel clamping sleeves; we only saw a small inscription that said "Germany." According to the records, this should be part number 37906240... Gruß Ulf

Hi,
For completeness' sake: The ASV-Ibiza from 2001 also uses the parts with the steel bracket clips on the connectors. I didn't check the part number further because Ulf also has this version.
