Hi.

Since I'm always behind the steering wheel and rarely get to run alongside my car at speeds of 50 km/h, here's a question:

Do the lenses on the corner Xenon headlights of the 3C always rotate?
Or only when the burners are on?

Actually, it would be silly to constantly crank the poor electric motors... but maybe Valeo also wants more revenue icon_wink.gif.

PS: If no one knows, I'll attach the digital camera to the Passat and film the lenses.

To begin with: I don't know icon_wink.gif.

I suspect, however, that it only works when the burners are on.
But the idea with the digital camera is cool icon_cool.gif.

Sure, Maxx.

That was clear to me when I wrote it.
It's a shame that I can't take any more pictures now, like the Passat looked when I had 200 meters of duct tape on it, so that my 300 EUR camera wouldn't get crushed under the 235 tires icon_wink.gif.

But I think the action needs to be taken...

Sure.

They didn't turn around - I filmed it.

To be honest, I would have been very surprised if anything had changed. Then the dynamic load shedding system could have been constantly adjusting...

Hi,

I'm nominating Martin for the award for the best forum film!

Let's see how long it takes until someone puts a camera and a light into the engine compartment to observe a VTG in action...

Best regards,

Jan.

Hi,

Quote:

I tried it! It doesn't work, because both the lamp and the camera fall out from the bottom of the engine compartment after being inserted. icon_lol.gif
I'll try again once I have the lower engine cover installed! Maybe it will work then... icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Seriously: Dieselmartin, you really did a great job! Excellent effort! How did the other road users react? It must look funny to have some kind of thing hanging off the front of the headlight...

Let's go back to the VTG: Is it really a good idea? If I want to observe the VTG while it's working, I also want to see what it does at full throttle. However, I prefer to have a warm engine for that. Could this heat actually damage the camera?

Regards,
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"How, don't you also have 4 TFT screens in the car and a camera on every corner? icon_biggrin.gif ....But filming a VTG?" A rod that moves back and forth? Doesn't sound like the most exciting movie, does it?

Okay.

Thank you for the compliment. I can recreate and document the experimental setup again.
(I can also upload the original 130 MB video file.)

MAKING OF THE XENON FILM

Here's a translation:

"Let me start by saying:"
Ixus 75 attached to a phone suction cup mount, which was then suctioned to the bumper, and then driven erratically through the garage courtyard.

The conditions above are not entirely icon_smile.gif.

Code TFL AMI (which means "TFL on" when the handbrake is engaged) and TFL to the fog lights. Then the static ABL will be affected as well!

The reason for the fun was the thought that, to my knowledge, the initial calibration (down, apart, inward, up) of the lenses is *always* performed, even when the light is turned off. And Valeo would certainly be interested in failing actuator motors.

DA XENON FÖLM 2 will explore what happens when you activate the burners while driving around a sharp curve. Then they would have to "veer sharply" or "turn very quickly."

Cool stuff. Could I maybe film icon_biggrin.gif my Opel sometime?
However, in my car, the turn signal light only activates up to about 40 km/h, I believe.

I had the daytime running lights programmed at the Opel event, and they use the xenon bulbs because they are already installed. Unfortunately, the Nebels are not working on mine icon_sad.gif.
If the headlight switch is off and the daytime running lights are on, the automatic steering function is also disabled in my car. Otherwise, it would be a waste of actuators and light bulbs for the turn signals.

That's totally interesting!

If I had equipment that was suitable, I would have already used it with my wastegate. icon_smile.gif

It's just like the wheel suspension when driving and steering, and I could watch it for hours. icon_lol.gif

Thanks to Xenon headlights and the associated low beam range, I can at least check it in the VAGCOM system, because it has the suspension travel data.

But the Sportline doesn't really do much icon_twisted.gif.
