Hello everyone,
"On my EOS, the linkage connected to the sensor for headlight leveling has become stuck and broken. This linkage is located on the front left side, near the axle."
I'm going to order this part now and install it next weekend. Now I understand that the adjustment lever is attached with a long slot, and a specific position must be achieved so that the sensor provides reasonable values for adjusting the headlights.

Therefore, my first question is: What values should I see after the installation so that I can determine the correct position?

The second question: How can I adjust the headlights using VCDS?

For your information: The EOS has xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights.

Hello,

Ich kann den Inhalt dieser URL nicht abrufen, da ich keinen Zugriff auf externe Websites habe. Bitte gib den Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest, direkt an.
Inside, you will also find a link to the basic settings for the xenon headlights.

Best regards, Rainer.

Sure, you're welcome.

I found the following information about the Skoda Octavia online.

First, the values for the front axle should be between 35% and 49%. Then, the baseline setting should be learned using VCDS. However, there were no instructions on how to do this.

Can anyone confirm the target values of 35-49% for a VW EOS? And how can the default settings be specifically adjusted?

Regarding the training process, I may have found the following information in the link you provided:
Example Golf IV, in standard configuration:

Quote:

Select STG 55 (headlight range adjustment).
STG measurement groups -> Function 08.

Measurement group 000.

Go to default settings.

After that, the headlights are adjusted as with normal low beam.

Hello,

The default setting positions the headlights in a fixed position.
Then, adjust the headlights using the adjustment screws so that the beam is properly aligned. And how to do that is explained in the article I linked.

Best regards, Rainer.

The specified 35-49% represents the measurement range of the LWR sensor, which is expected in the resting position. This value should be similar for all vehicles. It allows for a 51-65% reserve downwards (e.g., higher load, braking), and a 35-49% reserve for further suspension travel (e.g., acceleration).

I would expect similar values for all vehicles. However, it's ultimately just a reading that you usually can't adjust (unless the sensor has elongated holes in your model). Therefore, I would consider it more of a plausibility check of the sensor value.

Greetings.
Sure, here's the translation:

"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used to describe a sudden burst of something, such as laughter or anger.
