The doors, both front and rear, cannot be opened from either the outside or the inside.
Cause:
Due to the excessive tension on the small Bowden cable between the door lock and the door handle, it is impossible to open the doors from either the inside or the outside.
Due to water ingress in the area of the longitudinal beams, water tank, and windshield, corrosion has occurred. There is also a problem with the W37 connection (anti-theft warning system) in the wiring harness located under the left side sill.
Solution:
- Door handle - exterior - pull.
- Guide the Bowden cable through the opening using a small screwdriver.
clip out.
- Open the door from the inside.
The Bowden cable is a bit loose and needs to be reattached in its new position.
For vehicles with the modified spring, proceed as follows:
- After opening the door, remove the cylinder housing.
- Re-insert the spring with a tool through the opening.
- Attach the Bowden cable.
- Install the cylinder housing.
- Perform a functional test (a cracking sound can be heard).
- Regarding the pulling tool: The 6 mm "pins" that are welded on are positioned at a 45° angle.
If the door cannot be opened, proceed as follows:
Remove the interior door panels (note that the door panels on the front doors of the Golf and Bora are often damaged). Disassemble the aggregate carrier (AGT) from the inside, making sure to first detach the support bracket for the lock. Also, secure the window. Refer to the repair manual for the specific vehicle type. Now, using a curved, thicker welding wire attached to a disassembled lock, perform the "opening test" as follows:
- Lock the door.
- In addition to the microswitch, there is a white or differently colored component inside the lock.
Behind the plastic roller, you'll see a metal pin. Insert this metal pin between the outer wall of the lock and the curved, thicker welding wire that goes into the lock. You'll feel a slight resistance, and the lock will open. Now, perform the same procedure on the built-in lock. Tschüss
