Hello there.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me.
"I have a rattling sound (metallic) in my Golf that gets faster with the tire's rotation. However, it only happens when I turn slightly to the left. If I lightly apply the brakes, the noise completely disappears, even when I turn the steering wheel to the right."
I once turned off the engine while driving because I suspected it might be coming from the engine or something. But even after that, it was still there. I'm starting to run out of ideas about what it could be!
Ah yes, when it gets cooler, the noise disappears.
What could it be?? I already took it to a workshop, and they checked everything: wheel bearings, brakes, wheel suspension, shock absorbers – everything was fine! The body panels are also all securely attached!
Best regards,
Sascha

Does your steering wheel vibrate when you brake? It could be that your brake disc is warped.
A remote diagnosis like this is very difficult. However, if you say that it completely disappears when you brake, that gives us a general idea of the problem. Golf 5 2.0 TDI BMM

Hello.
Have you checked the brake dust shields to make sure they are properly positioned against the brake rotors?
The sheet metal might be loose.
Best regards,
Olli.

Hi,
It could possibly be a driveshaft or a ball joint. Take a look at the inside of the wheels/rims; maybe the grease has already spread there.
The metal plates behind the brake discs actually only make a nasty squealing noise when they are warped; however, they don't warp on their own...
