Hi everyone!

I'm having a small issue regarding the integration of a THB Bury CC9060 Plus (supposedly identical to the original VW Touch Adapter Voice) into a Golf V (A5). Specifically, the problem is related to... CAN gateway and wiring harnesses.

Background: This head unit has been working perfectly fine in a SEAT Ibiza 1K6 so far. It's a simple plug-and-play installation with ISO connectors, everything fits and works. The control signal was received via the S contact. Certainly.

Okay, I now have a Golf V from 2006, which, according to the descriptions, has a CAN-Bus. This means it doesn't have an S-contact. Also, I can discard the ISO cable adapter I've been using, because the installed RCD300 (not the "plus" version) has a Quadlock connector, according to various descriptions. And there are wiring harnesses available for that connector. However, I'm still confused, especially because some descriptions also mention the CAN-gateway (Index R). What does the index mean in this context, and what are the implications?

According to VW, the following wiring harnesses are used depending on the type:

000051444N Adapter Aux-In Adapter; Compatible with R110, RCD 210, RCD 300, RCD 310, RCD 500, RCD 510, RNS510, RNS2-MFD-DVD, RNS-2 MFD-CD.
5Z0051434 Wiring harness, cable, DIN-ISO (without CAN-Bus).
5Z0051434D Quadlock Wiring Harness with Phone-In Function (with CAN-Bus).
5Z0051434A Quadlock wiring harness for VW (with CAN-Bus).
5Z0051434B Wiring harness, VDA adapter cable for 18-pin VDA connector.
5Z0051434C Wiring harness for Phone IN adapter, DIN-ISO (without CAN-Bus).
5Z0051434E Wiring harness connection cable with ISO connector AC 5120, including. Shift box.

If I assume that I don't have ISO connectors, then parts 5Z0051434, 5Z0051434C, and 5Z0051434E are no longer applicable. As far as I can recall, 5120 was also the designation used by Bury.

Therefore, the remaining amount is:

000051444N Adapter, Aux-In Adapter (according to an image, it's labeled "ab System Magic Index R" - what the heck???). Can I even reprogram my RCD300?
5Z0051434D Quadlock wiring harness with phone integration (including CAN-bus)... could this be it...?
5Z0051434A Quadlock wiring harness for VW (with CAN-bus)... or also this one...
5Z0051434B Wiring harness, VDA adapter cable for 18-pin VDA connector (where is this needed???).

...and where can I get the S-contact? I found a diagram of the Quadlock connector for an RCD300, but I'm not sure if it's accurate. Does the GALA signal now come via CAN? And what does a CAN-Gateway (Index R) mean? Do I maybe even need a new graphics card now? icon_confused.gif icon_confused.gif

What I want: A Bluetooth device with A2DP support (for playing MP3 files via the CC9060 and for navigation announcements)...

I want my SEAT DIESEL back *sigh*.

Best regards, Styrian.

P.S.: Quadlock or Quadlok??? There are two possible spellings.

P.P.S.: Apparently, there's even a microphone from VW that's integrated into the headliner near the interior lighting. Is this compatible with the CC9060? Does anyone know the number ??? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Hi everyone!

Since it seems like no one here knows the answer, I'll provide it myself...at least, to the extent that I'm sure of it.

You need both the 5Z0051434A and the 5Z0051434D for the integration. One is the power supply or telephone mute, and the other is the audio input. The ignition power (terminal 15) needs to be tapped from the cigarette lighter socket. The third adapter, 000051444N for the AUX-In, is connected to the CD changer connections. However, the RCD300 (also known as the RCD300 Magic) needs to be reprogrammed for this, and it should have index R or higher. Let's see if mine meets these requirements. Otherwise, it's money down the drain again. As far as I understand, based on what other sources have said...

If anyone is interested in what VOLKS-Wagen dares to charge for these three cables without ignition logic: 62 Euros. The entire FSE, including the 5120 wiring harness, cost me (when it was brand new) just under 180. Not bad for a bit of plastic and copper, without a single spark of electronics...

I will proceed with the installation if the temperatures here start to rise again. "Minus 2 is a bit too cold for me, and the plastic, with its brittleness, will probably thank me for it..."

Greetings, Styrian.
