Recommendations for durable, effective, and also affordable underbody protection are welcome!

Currently, I am using a product from Landi, which is good for preservation, but is anything but winter-proof... therefore, a product based on wax would probably be a good idea. icon_question.gif

Hi!

Check out Elaskon UBS 2. It's water and winter resistant. Lasts for many years.
Warning: When used in warm weather, especially when dispensing from 1-liter cans using a pressure gun, it will create a mist, and you can end up saturating your entire car, including the windows and roof. Proper coverage is very important there.

We seem to have discussed this topic already twice. I usually lightly oil the rusted spots beforehand, as a kind of bonding agent.
Grüße, Steffen!

I have had good experiences with the Innotec Hi-Temp Wax Spray.
http://www.innotec.at/web/produkte/produkt.php?id=176
It has excellent adhesion and is applied in a very thin layer.
Another advantage is that this product is available in brown and transparent.
The risk that rot would continue unnoticed under the underbody protection has thus been averted.
Unfortunately, it's not exactly cheap. The aerosol can costs approximately 14,-.
One or two for a complete treatment.
I always treat the underbody with Brunox spray at the rusty spots first. Apply it twice and then let it dry thoroughly. After that, spray on Hi-Temp Wax.
Another advantage is that the underbody or axle parts sprayed with it look very well-maintained afterwards.
The TÜV inspectors need to assess the overall condition of the vehicle, and they often look at the "big picture" to determine whether a car has been properly maintained and cared for. icon_wink.gif

We've had something like this before icon_wink.gif:

Dry, the valley looks like the cavity protection from the Golf 2 era.

I use LM Cable Lubricant. It adheres very well, is thick and viscous. Is it available in 5-liter containers, in the usual 1-liter cans for the compressor, and as a spray? The latter is only mentioned for completeness. The spray cans tend to clog. This is also understandable for the contents icon_smile.gif. However, processing the liter bottles with compressed air works perfectly. However, one must also remember, especially in areas with splashing water. I do this for my own cars once a year. Sometimes I also apply graphite oil first and then the cable lubricant. I have no problems with rust. And the salt is also deposited neatly every winter.
