My wife's Polo 6N1 has already accumulated 310,000 km. The engine is an AEE, and the gearbox is a DKE. The car was built in 1996 and therefore has the original ZE engine. Apart from the usual maintenance work such as oil changes, BEDI cleaning, spark plugs, and oil pan and valve cover gaskets, nothing has been done to the engine. The engine has been consuming oil for some time, so at this mileage, I have two options to consider:
1. Complete engine overhaul
2. Used engine with as few kilometers as possible
My plan is to acquire the technology from a suitable donor vehicle.
This engine has been installed in numerous models of the VW Group, but some of them may not fit in the Polo. At least not plug 'n play.
Therefore, my first question: What is the MKB linked to? To the block, head, fuel injection system, ...?
According to my research, the AEE has been installed in the following models of the company:
Polo
Polo Classic
Golf 3
Seat Ibiza
Seat Toledo
Seat Cordoba
Skoda Felicia
Skoda Octavia
Which models have the AEE installed as in the Polo? Unsuitable due to significant modifications, in my opinion, are the engines of the following models:
Golf 3
Polo Classic
Seat Toledo
Seat Octavia
