Hello,
So far, I have only been a silent reader here, but now I have a problem that I would like to bother you with...
I have combined an AEL engine from a Volvo V70 with a wiring harness and an EDC15 engine control unit from an ACV/AJT engine from a T4. Both engine control units (ACV/AJT) are present, and the immobilizer has been disabled. How and with what tools can I re-check something? Before disabling the immobilizer, I had the error 'Engine control unit locked.' That error has now disappeared.
The error log contains only one entry: the control unit cannot communicate with the speedometer via the CAN bus. This is because the CAN bus is not connected.
Everything seems to be correctly wired electrically. I've transferred sensors like the mass airflow sensor (MAF), manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, throttle pedal, etc., from the T4. The ESP system is from AEL, and the connector on the wiring harness has been changed to a Volvo/AEL type.
When the ignition is turned on, the control unit opens the ELAB (electric latching actuator) for approximately 3 seconds, then closes it again. During the actuator diagnosis, the ELAB does not click. When 12V is manually applied to the ELAB, it clicks. The ELAB behaves the same way with both control units.
As a diagnostic tool, I use an old laptop from an Audi workshop, along with their software and a wireless dongle.
I would definitely be open to a different/better system...
I would be grateful for any tips on how to proceed with troubleshooting!
Best regards, Sönke.
