Hello, dear forum community!

I have a Golf 4, manufactured in 2002, with halogen headlights. I would now like to install the xenon headlights from a Golf 2, despite already having SWRA. "We want to re-evaluate the generation, including ALWR."

My question now: Is there only one control unit mounted at the rear of the headlights in the new generation? The starting device and ignition part are in the headlight?

I was offered new-condition headlights, one of which has a control unit mounted at the rear... However, not high-voltage modules, like those used in older models?

Are they completely finished?

Thank you and best regards,
Alex

So, mein 2002er I-V hatte an jedem Scheinwerfer hinten eine Vorschaltlampe montiert. Early versions had the charging units located in the wheel wells.

Hello Matthias!

Thank you for your response! That is. Should each individual headlight have its own control unit or high-voltage module?

Each headlight has its own control unit, high-voltage modules, etc. As far as I know, in the Golf 4, each headlight has its own control unit and a high-voltage module.
