Hello, Tdi fetishists! icon_smile.gif
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has long-term experience with the engine and transmission of a TDI-PD AJM 115hp (without a chip) model, specifically those with a 6-speed transmission.
I am actually very satisfied with my unchipped device, but it would still be tempting to icon_wink.gif.
Thank you in advance for your posts.
Best regards, Markus.

Golf4 GTI, mileage approximately 130,000 km, clutch replaced at 123,000 km.
Chip installed at a mileage of 20,000 km, measured power output is 140 hp and 408 Nm of torque.
It still runs like a 'bat out of hell.'

So, I actually have a car that's been chipped, originally with 90 horsepower, but now it has over 130.
But I test drove a 115 hp PD model two years ago, and I have to say, this...
The engine is practically begging for a turbocharger. The power increase is significant, but it only really kicks in after 3,000 RPM.
It feels like you're constantly braking. This was especially annoying when overtaking. The chip really starts to kick in at this RPM.
I would suggest getting a version with 350 Nm of torque and 150 horsepower.

Best regards.

Hi!

I have an AJM engine with 285 Nm of torque, and for about 40,000 km, I've had a chip installed that boosts it to 370 Nm of torque and 150 horsepower. The only problem I have is getting out of the car...
Well, the front tires are also causing some difficulties; they simply don't icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif.

Have fun and best regards.

'But I haven't even heard that the transmission is only designed for up to 350 Nm? And that 6-speed transmission isn't exactly known for being reliable, is it?'

You can ignore those "Valid until" specifications. A transmission is not just designed to last until a certain point.
but some handle less, while others handle more. There are chip versions available with capacities exceeding 400 N/m.
Furthermore, to my knowledge, the 6-speed transmission can handle more torque than the 5-speed transmission.
Finally, the 6-speed versions have more torque as standard.

It's always the same: if you're worried about the technology, you either have to stick with a standard configuration or buy a car with more powerful hardware from the factory.

Because if you're already nervous now, you'll naturally be more cautious with a chipped car, and that defeats the whole purpose.

I have the 5-speed version (285 Nm), which is supposed to handle even less torque. My car produces 370 Nm (probably more due to manufacturing tolerances), and the transmission handles it without any issues. The car is often driven with a lot of torque and at lower RPMs, which puts more stress on the transmission.

Just courage and greetings.

Hello!

Reading this thread, I get the impression that I might be doing something wrong.
I bought my Golf TDi PD (6-speed) from the year 2000 at .
Get the Nothelle tuned to 285 horsepower.
Before / After
195 / 215 km/h (16.75 seconds to 1000 meters)
The acceleration from 60 to 100 km/h in 4th gear was approximately 6 seconds!
My typical commute consists of 30 km on country roads, 115 km on the highway, and 5 km in the city.
I would say that I always warmed up the car properly before driving it hard.

And then the drama began.
Loader with 30,000 km (or miles) - new.
50,000 km, ATM (Automatic Transmission Module) new (hole in a piston crown).
60,000 km - Error: Turbocharger pressure limit exceeded.
(Due to weather conditions, with wet and cold weather, after driving aggressively for 80 km in a 120 km/h zone, then driving aggressively again and activating the emergency brake. My suspicion is that the loading housing cools down faster than the blades, which causes the blade adjustment to jam.)
After 60,000 km, the system was reverted to the original software. After that, there were no more problems.
110,000 km, water loss issue, VW replaced the head gasket.
'Loader with 111,000 km mileage has broken down. New loader installed, the oil is grey, but the workshop says it's not a problem.'
112,000 km, water loss issue, oil cooler to be replaced.
113,000 km: The loader is failing again, with a lot of water in the oil. New air-to-material separator (ATM), new loader.

I've been driving for over 50,000 kilometers without any modifications, which is actually a shame.
I would like to do something, but I'm only feeling afraid icon_wink.gif.

Das dazu. Was it just bad luck?

Best regards,

Andreas.

It's quite rare to have so much bad luck. I assume you have the 110 hp engine, and having it chipped to 140 hp might be less harmful than having my 90 hp engine chipped to 130 hp. After all, the 110 hp engine is built with a significantly more robust design.

Either the chip is faulty, or you got a lemon.
It's also possible that the initial defect caused the others.
It's best to sell your car and get a comparable one instead.

Okay: Which oil did you use?

Best regards.

I have edited the original post.
It's the 115 hp PD engine, and the oil has always been changed by VW during the service.
I only know that it's a special oil for PD.

Hi,

If "Bleifuss" means driving with the accelerator pedal fully pressed, then I would suspect that's the cause. Driving a heavily modified car at a constant speed of 80 km/h with the accelerator pedal fully pressed is likely to push the materials to their limits, or even beyond.

For a Vmax lawn, I don't think chips are really useful; they're more suited for acceleration.

Best regards,

Jan.
