Hello, I know that these 'cheap solutions' aren't always great, but I found this on eBay:http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40187&item=2435292268
I know that it's not as optimal as a chip, but what do you think about it, and I mean compared to an expensive box from, for example, http://www.kw-systems.de/?
'These have already been tested by several magazines and are okay (I've even owned one myself), but they are relatively expensive. But this cheaper 'cable' essentially does the same thing, what do you think?'
Best regards,

Hello,
Good idea, that thing probably won't cost more than €70.
I'll do it for 20 euros less.
He's talking about a temperature sensor. So, he installed a sensor with approximately 150 ohms instead of the fuel temperature sensor. This improves the engine's performance at low RPM, especially when it's cold. VAG-COM then reads a fuel temperature of around 120 degrees. The engine thinks the fuel is hot and thinner, so it injects more fuel.
The performance specifications are pure fraud. You won't get more than 5%.
You can find capacitors at Conrad and in most old radios and televisions.
If he switches something 'electronically,' it's so that it defaults to the original value of the temperature sensor when the engine is idling, because otherwise the engine would run very roughly. Old software - I can't stop laughing...
For someone who can hold a soldering iron, this device is worthless.

Most people are only willing to pay up to the minimum bid of 28 euros. Aside from the smaller performance increase, which is about 5-10%, I'm actually only looking for a little more power, and that would be quite sufficient for me, as I don't want to put too much stress on the engine.
I'm mainly concerned about whether this could damage the engine. The 'idle run' function is supposed to be preserved.
Best regards,

Hi,
You can probably find out what's really behind it by reading here:

I've already done some research and found similar things, but now I mainly want to know what the impact is on the engine. I'm not so much concerned about the wear and tear caused by the increased load (which would be the case with any chip, and probably even more so because it's extracting more power), but rather whether using a cable like the one I have can damage the engine. Or is it just a small increase in power with no significant side effects?
Best regards,

If you've already read so much about it, you've probably also seen that experienced people wouldn't necessarily do that! I wouldn't install that part for only 28 euros either!
