Hello!
It started like this: first, the indicator light started blinking.
My VAG workshop read the error codes, and error code 17970 came up.
I've already read through the entire community forum and only found one thing - N146 is blocked.
Unfortunately, the people in my workshop don't know what to do. (I wonder if the repair manuals are just as limited east of the Oder River? ) I don't have a chip or a box. Please help me, because no one knows what to do. Where should I look for the problem, and how can I get N146 working again?
Thank you.
/Chris

If the engine is still running, pour a generous amount of diesel cleaner into the nearly empty fuel tank.
Otherwise, check the control devices, flow meters, and electrical wiring.
In the worst-case scenario, it may be necessary to replace the fuel injection pump.

The engine runs quite well; it doesn't misfire or sputter. The fuel consumption is also fine. The problem is intermittent, occurring maybe once or twice a week. I'm going to try using a diesel cleaner. Which one would you recommend?

Are things as simple as tuning boxes, 10-cent items, or biodiesel excluded?

Hello!
As I mentioned earlier, no changes were made to the engine management system. Okay, so no modifications to the exhaust system and no '10c tuning.'
Now I'm waiting until the tank is almost empty and I'm going to try using this diesel cleaner.
The funny thing is, this problem occurs very irregularly. Sometimes everything is fine for a few days, and then it starts blinking for a while (sometimes for 5 minutes), and the next time you start it, everything is okay again.

Okay, here's the translation:
'Just one more thing!'
I can't rule out biodiesel, but could that be the reason for this error? Well, you all know very well how the diesel quality is with us...

How about metal shavings in the ESP as a cause?
Well, it doesn't have to be that way...

....Metal shavings in the ESP? I think I have a fuel filter.
Furthermore, I don't plan to disassemble the ESP. Well, determining the correct answer might be easy, but putting it all together...

Today, I started by adding a 'generous' amount of diesel cleaner to the tank, let's see if it works. I will describe the results.
Thank you for the tip.

Hey everyone!
I think the tip about using a diesel cleaner worked! The error seems to have stopped occurring. Thank you very much again!
