Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me if, on a Golf IV with an ASZ engine, the rubber seal for the vacuum hose (approximately 1 cm thick) located directly on the brake booster can be replaced individually and from the outside? In other words, can I simply pull the hose out, replace the seal, and reattach the hose?

At some point, the workshop probably overfilled the brake fluid, and it likely spilled onto this seal. It looks leaky now, and the hose has too much play when it's connected, in my opinion.

If it's easy to fix, I don't want to go to the workshop and spend a whole day riding the tram icon_sad.gif.

Sure, no problem! Here's the translation:

"Thank you in advance!"

Unfortunately, I don't know if the individual pieces are available.
Otherwise, you can easily replace them from the outside.
Make sure to check if it's leaking, although I doubt that's the case.
Let your car idle for a moment, then turn off the engine.
Wait a while, then disconnect the hose from the power brake booster.
If it hisses, leave the gasket in place.
Furthermore, when braking, you would notice that the brake is 'hard,' meaning that the brake pedal would not depress when pressed with the engine running. icon_wink.gif

THX.

I'll give it a try.
The brake itself isn't hard, but the hose can be twisted very easily within the seal and moved in and out. Some brake fluid has spilled on it. Thanks to the workshop icon_sad.gif ...
