Hello!
I was wondering if anyone could explain why, no matter what I do, I can't get the check engine light to come on, and therefore, I'm not getting any error codes in the engine control unit. Yesterday, I tried to adjust my static feeder start, and my first attempt was completely off (way too much material...). But I managed to get it right after a few tries!
My question is simply: Why is my student so clueless?
I can test NHG (negative hydrogen generation), injection start timing, Ld valve, MAF sensor, etc., and there are no errors in the control unit. (Of course, I also started the engine.) (Test drives conducted).
Just by blocking the fuel injection start valve and turning it a bit, shouldn't there be a control difference error in the control unit, causing the unit to go into emergency mode? My AAT (presumably an engine component) roars like crazy when the fuel injection start valve is blocked. He would have to reduce the fuel injection amount in that condition, right?
I'm already curious to see if anyone can explain this to me! |

Hello,
Did you also read the memory (using VAG-COM), or did you just check the light?
In my car (G3 AHU=1Z), not every error is acknowledged by the warning light, but most errors are stored in the system and can be read out using VAG-COM. More specifically, the heating element in my device (other than during the preheating phase) has never actually turned on, even though I have definitely experienced the emergency mode.
However, I'm also surprised that there's no emergency shutdown when the injection start valve is closed, but unfortunately, I don't have an explanation for that. Do you have the ability to read it?
Regards,
Private. |

No, I don't have the ability to read that right now.
I've experimented with it before, and I've essentially done something similar. Then I thought, 'Let's go to the workshop and have them clear the error codes (so that there aren't any unnecessary things stored for the next visit),'. The mechanic came with his VAG diagnostic tool, plugged it in, and asked me why I had come ??
The only issue my mechanic (temporarily) noticed was the stuck-open magnetic valve for the EGR system. Where this error is not recorded during every visit to the workshop.
I'm just not understanding my studies anymore! |

Hi Andi, you couldn't have been that far off, because otherwise it would have been noticeable by the lamp flashing.
Otherwise, you are of course right that the control unit seems to be completely unresponsive.
But also consider the advantages: Even if something fails, the engine will still keep running.
Isn't that somewhat reassuring, though? |
