Hello!
First of all, I used the search function, but I'm not really getting anywhere with the results!
Okay, so I have the 130hp TDI engine (code ASZ) and for the past few days, I've been feeling a loss of power. I cleaned the mass airflow sensor (MAF), but unfortunately, it didn't help. Then I cleaned the EGR valve, but it seems to have gotten even worse since then. What else can I do? I have VAG-Com, but it's not showing any error codes. Does anyone know what the target values should be for my engine so I can log the data and compare it?
Could it be that things got worse after the EGR cleaning? It shouldn't have, right? I also wanted to disable the EGR system, and I have a question about that too. Which hose should I close with a screw – the upper one or the lower one?
I hope someone can help me.
Okay, and one more thing, in my AGR (auspuffkrümmer) it wasn't just soot like it's always described here. It was more like black sludge, and underneath that was a layer of hard soot. I hope this is normal, and that nothing is broken!
Thanks in advance for your answers!

AGR: Attach the hose to the top of the metal container. Do not attach it to the container with the black plastic lever, as this is the shut-off valve and should remain functional.
Is your 'feeling of performance loss' also something that can be represented in measurable values? Otherwise, it will be difficult...

Hi,
You can find the expected data under:
Technical article Tips & Tricks Performance data for various TDI engines. The ASZ is included.
Then, proceed with troubleshooting using VAG-COM.
Technical article Troubleshooting and guides Information on onboard diagnostics with VAG vehicles Systematic troubleshooting for performance issues using VAG-COM.
Regarding the AGR:
Technical article General Function of exhaust gas recirculation.
Tip:
Use the search function by first searching only within the 'Technical Articles' category. You'll find most of what you're looking for that way.
If you have any questions after reading the articles mentioned, feel free to ask.
Regards,

Then I must have chosen the right hose after all.
I'm going to log some of the target data now and will get back to you later!

Hi!
Okay, I've just logged some data. What I've noticed is that when I accelerate, the target value for air mass jumps upwards (erratically), while the actual value increases gradually, like a ramp. I'll also upload the data online tomorrow.
But that's not normal, is it?
Could it be that I made a mistake during the AGR cleaning? Or could it be that the hose, which comes from the AGR valve and goes to the intercooler, is kinked somewhere?
I hope this is enough information for now. As I said, the files will arrive tomorrow!
Hi Marco.

If you floor the accelerator, the engine would ideally want the full boost pressure and maximum airflow immediately. However, the turbocharger needs a certain amount of time to build up the pressure and deliver the desired airflow. 01er Skoda Fabia Combi ATD

What is one supposed to understand from this scribbling?
If you take a measurement like that during your studies, you can just go home.

Apart from that, a brief review and comparison of your desired and actual air mass values would have been sufficient to determine that the actual values are within the acceptable range.
So, the mass airflow sensor is fine and can be ruled out as the cause of your power loss.
I would honestly prefer to flush this hysterically/aimlessly written piece of garbage down the toilet, because it doesn't show any signs that you've seriously engaged with the topic or are trying to understand how your device works.
Instead, I get the impression that a pointless argument is being started here, with all the usual hot air and bluster.

I'm sorry if this thread is a bit confusing. I'm going to review my own posts and delete any unnecessary content!
But can someone possibly help me with my problem? I've noticed that the performance issue only occurs at low RPMs. It seems like the turbo lag is extremely large; sometimes it takes a few seconds before you even notice the turbo kicking in!
PS: I would love to give you the Excel files directly, but I don't know where I can upload them. I'm sorry. I only know how to upload images! Or would it be helpful if I took screenshots of them?

hi,
Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. You don't need to publish any logs here yet. You can analyze the logs yourself. As you know, you can easily compare the 'should be' values with the actual values from the measurement groups. If the 'should be' value is significantly smaller than the actual value, then...
The air mass is okay, we've already determined that. So, according to your statements, you're lacking power. What should we check next?
Please read the relevant technical articles and try to understand what they are discussing. If you do that, I think you'll be able to pinpoint the problem very quickly. There's a wonderful technical article by Ulf on systematic troubleshooting for performance issues. It's not specifically tailored for a permanent magnet motor, but most of it is applicable.

Yes, I would like to compare the values with your database, but the ASZ (air-fuel ratio sensor) only shows values at idle, not at full throttle! The fields are usually empty!
I've already looked at the instructions (even before I wrote here), but the values seem to be fine for me! That's why I asked here!

Sorry, but the rumors are getting really intense now.
There's an article that includes the target values for idle and full load for your engine control unit (ECU). However, as I mentioned, for things that might be relevant to your specific vehicle, VCDS (VAG-COM) reads the target values and uses them based on the corresponding load conditions.
What do the values look like in measurement group 11? Maybe you'll find something there. Unfortunately, your logs that you've put online are too difficult for me to understand.

Are you referring to this page?
http://www.dieselschrauber.de/Solldaten_4_Zylinder_PD.html
Here I am at the ASZ, running at full capacity, but with hardly any readings!
Okay, the measurements from Block 11 are there, but in my opinion, they look quite good, don't they?
Or does the pressure need to increase faster?
I hope you can read this better now!

@Astro,
If you really can't manage it yourself.
Then, please include the Excel charts as screenshots. Similar to how it's done in this thread. However, make sure the X-axis is better scaled. Only the data relevant for the analysis should be displayed.
This typically includes groups 3, 8, and 11.
During each full acceleration from 1500-4000 RPM, with sufficient measurement data (using a sufficiently high gear!).
Also, perform a few load changes, switching the gas flow from 0% to 100%, to observe the pressure buildup and other transient behaviors.
Please group each set of data into separate diagrams and then highlight the interesting x-axis range. Take a Screenshot and upload it.
Please explain your issue/observations in more detail, and describe exactly what repair attempts you have made (e.g., did you block the EGR valve with a plate, or just remove the hose? Did you carefully inspect the charge air hoses and intercooler for oil leaks?).
I strongly recommend that you thoroughly read the relevant articles before your next post. Your next post should be as clear as possible, otherwise, I can imagine that you might be banned from the forum next time and not get another chance. The level of this forum is high, which is why there are relatively strict rules. Therefore, please take enough time before posting anything next time. No one is rushing you, and your car won't break down if you take a little more time.
Regards,
Private.
EDIT: OK, the boost pressure curve when the engine is warmed up looks quite good. All that remains is to represent the curves for groups 3 and 11 as diagrams when there are load changes, and also to follow the tips mentioned above! So far, all the measured values indicate that your car doesn't have any problems, which is why it's becoming increasingly difficult to understand your perception of power loss.
