Hello,

I had essentially the same problem yesterday (wave-like acceleration, fluctuating load pressure, reduced power).
LMM only had maximum values of 730mg, so it needed to be replaced. After that, the symptoms were not as noticeable, but they were not completely gone. I tried the diode trick and everything was back to normal. My T3 is running smoothly again, with no LD fluctuations, and sufficient power.

Of course, I haven't accepted the fact that my TDI only achieves its air mass values through a diode trick, since the O2 sensor is new. In short, after some searching around the air intake system, I found the cause.

Two very small cracks in the hose from the LMM to the turbo caused the error. Exactly where the (cable tie) attachments were located, the hose was worn through (of course, this is not an original hose, but a brake ventilation hose that runs from the very back of the engine compartment, diagonally from the right to the turbo - a T3 conversion, for example).

So, be careful, after using the air filter/LMM, check the intake side to see if there is any leakage. Your turbo will thank you.

Greetings,

Rolf

Hi Rolf,
Thank you for the information. I will definitely check it. Otherwise, it would be wasted money with the LMM. I'll see if I have time over the weekend. Then I will carefully examine all the connections, and if nothing helps, I will replace the LMM anyway.
Best regards, Pit
