Hi!

At an outside temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, the air conditioning compressor would likely be unable to provide sufficient cooling, as it can only theoretically cool down to 0 degrees Celsius. Your windows are fogging up due to the cold outside air and the resulting low surface temperature of the window glass.

Best regards,
Uwe

'It can't be stated more clearly than Uwe did. Unfortunately, the misconception about the function of a climate control system keeps recurring, and it is often repeated.'

Please consider Uwe's explanation again. Perhaps Rainer should also dedicate a section to explaining how a climate control system works, using the information available here, as these questions are frequently asked.

Hello,

Thank you again for your numerous answers icon_exclaim.gif. With the gloomy weather of the past few days (outside temperature >5 degrees Celsius), I have often, as a test, switched to AUTO mode, and lo and behold: The windows were noticeably less fogged up than with ECON. Since then, in that kind of weather, I only use Climatronic in AUTO mode icon_biggrin.gif. The air dehumidification works really well.

Happy New Year icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif.

I've been using the ECON wipers for weeks now, and they don't fog up even in heavy rain.

Even the 600 km of highway in torrential rain didn't affect it (nor did it affect the mass airflow sensor icon_smile.gif).

Cleaning the windows makes a huge difference, and check the pollen filter.

CU Gremlin.

Hi.

Okay, so if there are multiple people in the car and they all come from the pouring rain, then the windows tend to fog up relatively quickly due to the evaporating moisture. If the Climatronic is set to AUTO, I think that the window fogging stays within reasonable limits. But @Gremlin: You're right about cleaning the windows. verschandeln windows make a big difference. I want to do it more often, but unfortunately, I always have too little time icon_wink.gif. The pollen filter was only thoroughly blown out with compressed air instead of being replaced with a new one (but it still works).
