Hello, I also received some ODB2 connectors.
So, from now on, we can implement some complex... Get an ODB2 connector adapter.

Post21-07-2003, 14:12    Subject: Adapter works perfectly with the A6 (C4). Quote

Hello Maik,

As I previously informed you via email, the adapter is running smoothly on my A6 2.5TDI (C4).
Even the short circuit that I accidentally created while soldering in a hurry and excitement, which immediately damaged the power supply line during the first test, was successfully overcome by the circuit without any lasting damage!
Now I'm only using VAG-COM because I'm not entirely sure how to use it.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your prompt responses to my various inquiries; such quick support is not often found.

Greetings, Burki

Regarding communication errors:

improved performance by changing the value of the 100k potentiometer from a mid-position to approximately 65-70k.

Hi,

I can only echo the positive comments about Maik's adapters. It has been in operation since yesterday and is running smoothly in conjunction with my old P1 notebook and Windows 95.

Thanks again to Maik.

Greetings

Although it has been a while since I placed the order, it doesn't affect the excellent product. Also, everything is working perfectly for me too.
Ok, it's important to have basic soldering skills when building.

Best regards, JOE

Hello Maik,

I'm having a small problem with the adapter.
It usually worked well. I haven't used it in a while. However, after the engine warning light came on, I had to repack the adapter.
The software (VAG-COM) recognizes the adapter, and the test is successfully completed. If I then click on the 'Motor' tax device or try 'Kombi' etc., it attempts to log in 4 times and then displays an error message (something like: 'Could not communicate').
Even though I am automatically STG search, finds nothing.

Do I need a different software now, or what options are available?
Okay, the LED lights up (red) when it's connected.

P.S. I tried this on 2 vehicles and the results were the same on both (VW T4 and Passat 3B).

Hello Maik,

Also, no problems for me either (A6 C4). When operating with VAG-COM, it is completely stable. However, I experienced occasional connection drops when using my self-built "Jeff-Adapter".
When using with the IPAQ (the reason I switched to my own adapter), and the arlab software, there are often communication problems - which cannot be blamed on your adapter.

Greetings

Hello,
Since the adapter was working before, you don't need any other software. I suspect you either have a broken connection to the OBD2 connector or a faulty circuit board. Just send me a private message.

Greetings

I will also be assembling and testing my Primitiv adapter soon, of course, including the mass current brake for emergency situations.

If it works - is there interest in another plan for an adapter 'from the junk drawer'?

Hi Ulf,

I am interested in a KK version of the V3.1 adapter.
In the test, the adapter performed well with multiple laptops and vehicles, and the parts cost less than €10 at Conrad (of course, without the casing and connectors). Rating so far: 1+

I suspect - if I have read the technical article correctly - that this refers to a version with the ability to operate 2 K-Lines, i.e., vehicles with too many control units from 2001 onwards... icon_wink.gif

Ah yes, 2 K-Lines, there was something there icon_lol.gif . . . I haven't done anything with adapter drawing for a while icon_redface.gif

I've redrawn the 3.1, so that it could potentially form 2 K-lines.

If someone builds it for me (as I don't have a suitable vehicle to test it with), -> please let me know if it actually works.

The circuit, of course, is as always without warranty!!
-> @ Electronics Technician: please take a look and check for any logical errors.

Edit: I actually wanted to display the plan horizontally and in full view, so that the page on the monitor wouldn't become a meter wide.
But the software only takes it as a download icon_eek.gif icon_question.gif
So, keine Panik -> einfach den Monitor nach rechts kippen icon_wink.gif

I also have another question regarding icon_eek.gif.

On my Beetle, the diagnostic port is located in a very inconvenient place, so that it causes extreme interference when logging data while driving. I would like to install the entire adapter in my car, but my only concern is that I don't know if I will still be able to use other connections, such as a visit to the workshop. I can't just bring my laptop to the repair shop. icon_lol.gif

Hi,

In your situation, I would first remove the OBD port, then tap all the wires at the back, and run the connection wires to a convenient location in the car.
For example, you could install a diode coupling there, attach the appropriate connector to the adapter, and that's it, the enclosure is complete icon_wink.gif

Hello Maik,

I also have a small problem. I soldered the adapter together like this, and when I test with the VAG software, it recognizes the adapter (the LED test also works). But as soon as I connect the adapter (i.e., the K-line), the adapter test no longer works. I am also unable to establish a connection icon_sad.gif

I have VAG 4.02 (shareware) and a Passat, manufactured in 1998.

Thank you for your help...
