You've already answered your own question with that. Possible cause: a stuck positive electrode displacement (PDE). Possibly eaten.

I would start by replacing the fuel filter. Since the tandem pumps tend to leak slightly, some oil inevitably gets into the fuel.
In the acceleration range (when the accelerator pedal is pressed), the filter closes.
The jolting is quite noticeable, but it can be stronger or weaker at times.
So, my tip: fuel filter!
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

I already replaced the filter, but it didn't work.
It wouldn't really make sense if the car jerked at engine speeds up to 3000 RPM, but then ran smoothly above 3000 RPM, even on the highway at 200 km/h without any problems. Especially at those speeds, it needs a lot of fuel.
But still, thank you for the information!

Then, instead of a single PDE increasing GDP by +100, all four would decrease it uniformly. Passat Variant BGW 2005

Hello, I would like to remove the PDE (presumably a component) from the 4th cylinder and take a look at the cylinder head walls. Due to friction from the seals, wear marks can occur, which can then lead to leaks. If those are in order, I'll warm up the vehicle properly and remove the intake manifold to check if there is any water (coolant) in the intake channels of the cylinder head. (It wouldn't be the first cylinder head to crack.)

That is not proof.

Well, you've probably heard many suggestions already... here's mine.
Problem located on cylinder 4.
Expand all PDEs and inspect the direct connection of the PDE (copper ring) to the head!
"No uniform impressions. Replace the head!!!!"
"Seat is okay. Clean the PDE (pre-combustion chamber) preventatively to remove carbon deposits using an ultrasonic cleaning device."
It costs approximately 40 euros at a VAG workshop to have the common rail injectors (PDEs) tested when they are removed.
"There's a slight scratch in the upper area of the cylinder head, but it's not serious. It can be removed using fine-grit sandpaper or abrasive cloth! (Important: This is to prevent damage to the new seals when installing the high-pressure fuel pump!)"
Check the camshaft and lifters for increased wear and damage!!!!
If everything is okay... swap the ignition coils from cylinder 1 to cylinder 2, and from cylinder 4 to cylinder 3!
Adjust the collision parameter of the PDE precisely!
Set the camshaft synchronization angle precisely to 0, or slightly negative.
Test drive and reassessment of complaints.
If the value for cylinder 4 has changed from 2.99 to 3, then it may only be necessary to replace the PDE (presumably a sensor or component). If the value of 2.99 remains on cylinder 4, then the cylinder head needs to be replaced.
Cylinder 1 is okay... it's only matching the problem on cylinder 4...!!!!
