I completely agree. My own Passat does this by driving in a circle to the left, then a circle to the right (or vice versa) at a speed of at least 15 km/h. After that, the first light goes out. Then, drive straight and brake so that the ABS engages. That's it.
I also wanted to complete the system test on an Audi A8 TDI. It was supposed to be quick, but it didn't work out that way. The car absolutely refused to cooperate. I even drove around the empty parking lot near a quarry for about an hour. When I finally gave up and was about to turn the car off, the lights finally went out.

It might not be enough. Was the interface pulled from the diagnostic connector?
Then, during the "test drive," all functions related to ABS/ESP must be tested - steering, brakes, gear selections, ESP on/off, possibly parking assistance, if available, differential lock, all-wheel drive, etc.
Can the other errors displayed in the car scan be cleared?

Hello,

This weekend, I tried several times on both days, but unfortunately, those attempts were also unsuccessful. I can get the lights to turn off (the ESP doesn't flash, but goes out when the car starts moving), but the system test remains active.

I read somewhere that the test can be deactivated again by dialing "103". Since I didn't intentionally activate the test, I deactivated it with great anticipation.
Unfortunately, I now have one more error, and the ABS/ESP and parking brake lights are now constantly illuminated or flashing. It appears that a new coding is now required, but unfortunately, the login is not being accepted icon_sad.gif.
45 minutes of screwing, and unfortunately, already over 6 hours spent struggling with the vehicle software icon_confused.gif.
I suspect there's still a mistake somewhere that I haven't found yet.

Best regards,
Marco

Hi,
Before you continue experimenting with VCDS, there's a "Debug" folder in your VCDS directory. Inside, you'll find two "*.log.csv" files. Please post those here so we can see what else you've been doing.

Okay, I'll do that sometime soon. I'll see where I can find the information and consult the manual again.

Thank you, best regards, Marco.

Hello,

In the Debug folder, there are only 3 files: "ReadMe", "SRILog", and "Systeminfo". I think only "SRILog" might be interesting, but it only contains information about resetting the maintenance intervals from January, which is not what I'm looking for.
Am I in the right place? Sorry, I'm just starting out...

There are also logs for coding and customization.

Hello helper,

"I'm sorry, I don't know where to find the file. Could you please describe the path to it more precisely? Most of the files are from before 2020, so they are probably not relevant. Are you referring to the Excel list in the LOGs folder, named LOG 03-001-xxx? It seems like only the most recent activity is stored here. I'm not looking in the VCDS application, but in the VCDS-DRV folder."

Thank you in advance for your patience; I'm still relatively new to VCDS. I'm learning a lot from my mistakes... I also take my time and search carefully, which is why I sometimes don't reply for days.

Best regards,
Marco

Hello,

Attached is a Screenshot showing where to find the logs for adaptation, coding, and service reset in VCDS.

Best regards, Rainer.

Then, with this software installation, you haven't written any code or made any adjustments.

Okay.
I didn't do that either. So, how do I access the mentioned errors that are stored, and how do I fix them?

Best regards, Marco.

It will only work with repeated, longer trips. At first, always press the brake pedal. Use all the gears and driving functions, etc. If nothing helps, you could try disconnecting the battery for fifteen minutes and then starting over. Do not attempt any modifications using VCDS.
