Hello,
I'd like to give a quick update.
The LiFeYPo4 cells are installed and have performed very well so far.
I have installed an 80-ampere alternator with an external regulator on my diesel engine. To stop the charging process, the battery management system interrupts the positive wire to the regulator via a relay. The Lima will then run without delivering any power.
The external regulator is a very cheap "firecracker" type, with no information whatsoever on the device. It also cuts off the alternator's power supply much too early. I haven't been able to find anything else like it in Greece.
"I just found the following controller online:"
https://www.lima-shop.de/site/product_info.php/info/p499_Adjustable-regulator-13.5-15.5V-BMW-motorcycle-R65-R75-R80-R100.html/XTCsid/86fba8bdcf96af1be3038ab627a996e8
It's adjustable, and based on the vehicles I've seen being used with it, it's not just suitable for BMW motorcycles. The salesperson isn't giving me enough information.
My alternator is a Paris Rhone A14R22, 12V, 80A.
The salesperson isn't giving me enough information.
What is your assessment: Can I use this regulator for the alternator?
Best regards,
Hermann.
