Hello Herbert,

Your boost pressure control is working well, which already indicates that there isn't a major leak in the charge air system. Also, the mass airflow readings look completely normal.

"As beautiful as these values are, I would almost rule out any leaks or similar issues. I will run another log later to assess the relationship between actual airflow and actual boost pressure, and I ask for your patience."

Have you checked if the mounting nut of the exhaust temperature sensor on the turbocharger is tight?
It has also been loose for me before icon_razz.gif.

Best regards, Rainer.

I'll keep working on the intercooler system for now. I plan to check the control system in the next few days anyway, and that will give me access to the hoses and the intercooler itself.

Back to the main topic:

Default setting - Resetting the DPF learning values sets the oil ash values and the calculated soot mass to zero, while the measured soot mass is set to 2.4 g (performed after a few kilometers following a field regeneration).

Of course, you wouldn't want to have those oil ash values when dealing with a used DPF, which is why...

Adaptation - Initializing the DPF with a value of 72,000 km (current mileage) results in an oil ash volume of 0.05 liters, an oil ash mass of 20.9 grams, a calculated soot mass of 24.10 grams, and a measured soot mass of 2.8 grams.
The ash values are exactly the same as they were before the initial calibration, as described above. It is possible that a history of ash values is stored, along with the corresponding mileage.
The calculated amount of soot above the border then led to field regeneration. A second round of field regeneration occurred approximately 10 kilometers further along.

- Soot levels before the action: 23.19g / 9.23g.
- Before adjustment: 6.20g / -1.69g
- After the first regeneration: 5.52 g / -3.29 g
- after the 2nd regeneration: 5.87 g / -2.78 g

(so it probably didn't achieve anything except providing knowledge).
hg
Herbert.
