Okay, so here's the first long-term test report. I had further investigated the issue with the 50W Morimoto control units. Specifically, I used compatible 50W bulbs, also from Morimoto, all imported from the US. The receipt finally arrived, after a little over 2 years, in the form of a burnt-out reflector. Strangely, it was only the right one.
I recently inquired with Retrofitlab about the possibility of purchasing the reflectors individually. They immediately sent me two, free of charge, as a gesture of goodwill. I hadn't even considered or asked for such a thing. I'm very pleasantly surprised that businesses still operate like that. I would have even been willing to buy two new projectors. After all, I was using 50W bulbs, and having fun is important.
Anyway, everything is new again. Now I have Osram CBB bulbs with Morimoto 50W ballasts for the bi-xenon setup, and I also installed the latest Philips H7 bulbs with a plus 200% brightness in the high beam headlights.
Let's see how this works in practice.
