It is indeed extremely difficult to locate the source of the error. Since I only lightly tapped the sound generator (SG) with the screwdriver handle and was thus able to reproduce the error, this explanation seemed most likely to me.

I've already pulled on the cables quite a bit, and the connectors look fine to me.

My plan is to replace the entire block with a new one from an ET donor vehicle as soon as I have some time.

In short: this weekend I replaced the ABS module. I had lost confidence in the ABS system because the pump was activating even with light braking.

Since the replacement, I've driven about 150 km without any issues. I hope it stays that way!

I'm familiar with active ABS engaging during light braking, which can happen if the distance between the sensor and the toothed wheel is incorrect or if the toothed wheel is damaged.

The error pattern was so bizarre afterwards that I didn't know what to do anymore. I even heard the ABS pump once while driving, without braking .


BTW:
Of course, I reconnected the intact sensor to the ABS connector.

The ABS hydraulic unit that was already replaced has started malfunctioning again. The error code in the diagnostic memory is exactly the same as it was before.

00283 - Front wheel speed sensor, left side (G47).
35-10 - - - Sporadic
00283 - Front wheel speed sensor, left side (G47).
16-10 - Signal out of tolerance - Intermittent.


After that, I reassembled the block, opened the control unit housing, and resoldered all the contacts on both connectors. One of the solder joints to the pump was even broken.
I resealed the lid using Sika 221 (which my neighbor happened to have on hand).

The error is now finally fixed. It's a shame I disposed of the control unit back then. It almost certainly had the same problem.
