'That it somehow accumulates in the compressor or something like that? As I mentioned, I can only repeat what the HVAC technician said, as I don't really know much about climate control systems. I've also asked in other forums. I've also contacted d.e.f.a. Let's see what comes of it. Personally, I don't want to deal with a broken compressor for the sake of 30 euros, which I've saved up.'
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi!
Okay, I've never heard of the oil being completely drained out! Of course, if there's a leak in the system, it will be forced out along with it. But with normal wear and tear of the refrigerant, the oil remains in the system. When the system is evacuated, the oil that's mixed with the remaining refrigerant may be extracted along with it, so that the amount extracted can be determined and returned. However, the intention is not to extract all the oil!

'How much oil is being extracted? I want to be able to show this thread to my HVAC technician so he can see it. It might be a difficult conversation, but it's better than dealing with a broken compressor.'

Hi!
So, I can't tell you exactly how much is being effectively extracted, as that likely depends on when the system was last running.
I can give you a work instruction from DC for the A-Class, if you like.
"If the refrigerant loss is less than 400g (no leaks detected!), do not add any oil."
(Even so, I would! But I would refill the oil that was extracted and separated.)
"If more than 400g is lost (leakage can be detected!), refill with 20ccm of compressor oil."
By the way, the total refrigerant charge is 600 grams.
Best regards,

It weighs 1150 grams, including the unit. Could a lack of compressor oil cause a squealing noise when idling?
Best regards, WarLord.

Climate!
The oil only evaporates in cases of a sudden pressure loss, such as in a crash or a more severe leak. I have spoken to various automotive technicians who confirmed this to me. Before my current bus, I owned a Galaxy 1.9 TDI. I bought it as a total loss vehicle and repaired it myself. Of course, the A/C lines were broken. No oil was added, and the system was tested for leaks using a vacuum pump, then filled. The system has been operating without any problems since then (for 3.5 years).

Here's a progress report:
I have now used ATU's 'climate service' for €77 to rule out the possible cause of 'insufficient refrigerant.' However, this has not changed anything about my jerking problem. The master technician at ATU (who was, incidentally, very friendly and seemed competent) then recommended that I have the pressure sensor and a temperature sensor specifically checked by VW.
The system continues to switch the compressor on and off approximately every 7 seconds at full cooling capacity and with an outdoor temperature above 34°C. The ATU technician suggested that this could potentially be caused by a defect in one of the two sensors.
Okay, here's my question: Where is this thermostat sensor located, at what exact temperature does it switch, and how can I possibly test it?
Regarding ATU's climate service:
The entire procedure is performed using a device.
- Extract the coolant and record the amount extracted (in my case, 700 out of 800g, after 3 years and 90,000 km).
- Evacuate
- Fill in the target quantity.
- Testing
The device has a separator that separates the coolant from the compressor oil. After the vacuum process, any coolant that may have been drawn out is drained into a measuring cup, and the corresponding amount is then refilled. In my case, only 1 drop came out, so I didn't need to add any. The technician said that the oil generally settles in the compressor and therefore may not necessarily be drawn out.
I will get back to you when I have more information about the two sensors.

Hi, I'm not an expert on climate stuff, but does your Golf have a turbocharger or a swashplate compressor? Is there a service bulletin from VW about defective swashplate compressors?
under full climate control.
