Hello,

I couldn't help but feel a certain amount of annoyance.

I don't care, I'm going to get some gasoline (new: €0.59; used: free). icon_cool.gif

1. To this day, I have not heard of any scientific evidence that definitively proves that the particles emitted by a modern diesel vehicle can lead to the development of cancer.

It is a well-known fact that fine dust particles can cause cancer in the lungs, and while the chemical composition is secondary, the mechanical irritation is what matters most; i.e., whether or not a few hydrocarbon molecules are attached to the soot particles doesn't matter. In carpenters, it's wood dust, in bakers it's flour, in masons it's cement, etc. Do some research on "occupational disease/dust." And the small particles from modern diesel cars are, unlike those from older "polluting machines," able to reach the lungs. A smoking /8 or Golf2 may stink, but you can cough up its large soot particles.

2. I am of the opinion that the higher soot content of diesel fuel, compared to gasoline engines, is already taken into account in the motor vehicle tax.

Do you pay that much? icon_twisted.gif

3. Considering the condition of efficient particle reduction, my first thought would be to promote the use of particulate filters, either by reducing taxes for consumers or through legislation requiring manufacturers to install them.

Increasing the mineral oil tax ostensibly serves ecological goals, but it seems to me that the real driving force here is more likely related to upcoming budgets...

I agree.

Quote:
But I have to agree with my predecessors: We wanted it this way, and by the next election, all of this will be forgotten again!

I'll just say one thing: 16 years of Kohl. He always managed to make sure that everything was forgotten by the next election...

I'm glad we live in a pluralistic society; it would be terrible if the same people always benefited.

Best regards, Uli.

Earlier, the news reported that Chancellor Schröder is not considering any changes and will not follow the proposal of Mr. Trittin! 1. We'll see! 2. Those who believe it are deluded!

Hello again.

Speaking of scams:

Is it already possible to predict what the vehicle tax rates will be starting in 2006?

Or, when is that supposed to be decided?

Hi,

I'll just say one thing: 16 years of Kohl. He always managed to make sure that everything was forgotten by the next election...

Whew, that's a relief! I thought I was the only one here who still remembered 'Bundesklops' and his political style...

I am glad about our pluralistic society; it would be terrible if the same people always benefited.

Ultimately, it's always the same people.
My thesis is that there is hardly any difference between the CDU and the SPD, but there is a significant difference between holding government office and working in opposition. icon_idea.gif

Earlier, the news reported that Chancellor Schröder is not considering any changes.

That's exactly why I refrained from commenting on that topic yesterday.
It's warm outside, the holidays are coming – we're on the verge of summer vacation!

Hi,
This reminds me of 'Werner' (which is currently playing in cinemas).
His intellectual father (Brösel/Röttger Feldmann) had long anticipated its widespread popularity.
designed the last page of the 'Station to Station' city magazine in Kiel.
It must have been around 20 years ago (probably right before another state or federal election).
as Werner was asked by a friend: ' Hey Werner, tell me, how does the election actually work? '
and Werner replied: ' So... imagine you have two piles of shit.'
and you can choose which ones to join. '

Best regards, Rudi.

Elections in Germany: This is finally a chance for the people to exercise their power – roughly speaking, it's like letting a pig choose its butcher. icon_evil.gif icon_evil.gif

Okay, so the topic is off the table! The Chancellor said there would be no tax increases for diesel vehicles. That's good news... I've already paid enough at around €290... icon_wink.gif

Hi everyone,

First choose, then sue; that's not how it works!

I didn't vote for these dyed-in-the-wool communists. But to be honest: which party would have the courage, or the backing from the population, to implement real structural reforms? I don't know of any. It always boils down to choosing the "lesser of two evils."

Manuel Thomas wrote:
One would think that four years of red and green traffic lights would be enough to learn from, but apparently Germans are really just stupid herd animals!

"It's true that Germans are now the most selfish drivers on the road. People don't use their turn signals (especially in West Germany), they speed (e.g., in 30 km/h zones), and so on... Every car ride is filled with some kind of incident, and I always think that driving is far too cheap. Road traffic reflects the declining standards in this country. The first sensible reform would be a ban for selfish drivers who only care about themselves. Why aren't traffic controls being tightened? It's obvious: the state isn't interested in having fewer people drive cars. That's why price increases are being implemented gradually."

Hi everyone,

I am also convinced that fine particulate matter can have a significant impact on the lungs. I believe that diesel particulate filters can be optimized in such a way that fuel consumption does not increase significantly.

I read an interesting article about the Lupo 3-liter engine: Normally, TDI engines are optimized for emissions up to a speed of 120 km/h (and legislation also specifies this maximum speed). When the engine is operated above 120 km/h, the emission levels in cars like the Lupo become extremely high.

No one can tell me that a top-of-the-line performance car (PD), which is typically driven at speeds of at least 160 km/h on highways, emits fewer pollutants at high speeds than a Golf II diesel engine traveling at 110 km/h on the highway.

When considering the weighting of individual pollutants, I believe that in the future, the main focus should be on CO2 and soot. The finer the soot particles, the stricter the emission limit should be. CO2 emissions can be regulated through fuel prices, and soot emissions can be reduced by installing a diesel particulate filter, which means that even someone with limited financial resources can keep their Golf II icon_wink.gif.
