If the Pierburg sensor is only reporting insufficient airflow but still generally functions, then it would be of interest to me.

Here's something else about the correction circuit.

The circuit is designed ONLY to correct aged or degraded mass airflow sensors (MAF) up to a certain degree of degradation. If a sensor is broken or completely unresponsive, it cannot be repaired with this device.
Then it won't help anymore.
It's important to adjust the gain. I've set it up so that the voltage at the output of the operational amplifier (OP) is the same as the voltage at the mass airflow sensor (MAF) output when the engine is idling.
For this application, please use a 10-turn precision potentiometer; the others are too coarse.
If it's smoking, just keep adjusting it until it works properly.

If you want to ensure that you don't damage the control unit while soldering, you can unplug the connector from the control unit until you have finished soldering.

With an amplification of approximately 1.3, the weakness of the mass flow meter should be compensated. If it is even worse than that, then you might have to consider replacing it.

You don't need a circuit board for just a few components; I simply built it around the IC and then encased it in resin (epoxy/polyester) after a short test. Finally, I concealed it within the cable bundle using heat shrink tubing.

Whoever turns the boost down to 1 for the TÜV inspection likely has an engine that's running tired and definitely isn't producing excessive smoke!

And another tip for those who have a new TDI:

Buy a faulty mass airflow sensor (MAF) and the necessary Torx wrench with a hole in the middle on eBay.

Replace the MAF sensor in the intake manifold with the defective one. (Not the entire MAF assembly.)
Bring your car in for repairs, and we have a new sensor in stock that you'll definitely need, guaranteed.
And don't tell me it's illegal or a scam – I consider this self-defense!!!

I took stock of my wider circle of acquaintances recently:

Nine people have a TDI.
7 of them have clearly over 100,000 km on the odometer - all of them have at least one new mass airflow sensor installed!

Perhaps an increasing failure rate during the warranty period will encourage Audi to switch to the more robust (and cheaper) Siemens system. (Here in this forum, it is also referred to as the 'Daimler' system.)
'Addendum:' or 'P.S.' (depending on the context)

It is now:

11 people own a TDI.
9 of them with mileage clearly exceeding 100,000 km.
8 of them have at least one new LLM (Large Language Model) installed!
'Unit 1 is still faulty; they are currently working on the correction circuit.'

Hi Garth,

Siemens definitely doesn't manufacture mass airflow sensors because that company doesn't produce any automotive components.
The store is called SIEMENS VDO Automotive (SVA) - that's a completely different company!

The Daimler LMM (mass airflow sensor) is made by Pierburg, and Pierburg is a subsidiary of Kolbenschmidt.

Currently, I am not aware of any European automobile manufacturer that uses SVA mass airflow sensors.

Hello Bertil,

You are absolutely right about Siemens VDO (SV), even though SV is a 100% subsidiary of Siemens and therefore still belongs to the Siemens Group.

However, SV supplies mass airflow sensors to all major car manufacturers, with the exception of Ford and VAG.

Also to DC and BMW as well!
