Hello,

I recently noticed that in a Passat, model year 1999, with an AFN engine, and in a...
T4 vehicles with a 2.5 TDI engine use the same mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor), and the Bosch part number is the same.
As far as I know, Volvo also used the 5-cylinder engine from VAG.
installed, it's quite possible that the same part is used in the Volvo as in the...
VAG is included.

Regards,

Jürgen.

Hello!

What is the cost of the mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) for Volvo? I need one for a 150 hp Audi A6 2.5 TDI V6 AKN (which is supposedly very similar) and one for a T4 2.5 TDI R5 ACV. The MAF sensor for the T4 is also available from Mercedes-Benz and costs about €70 there. If there were an alternative for the A6, I would be happy icon_confused.gif.

Best regards, Peter.

@gremlin: That's correct, the temperatures aren't as high as they were with the wire sensors. However, the mass airflow sensors (MAF sensors) are heated. This, in turn, causes the issue. This is according to a statement from a VW factory employee who is familiar with the problem.
The new version should have been installed in the T4 last year, but it's still not working.

What is the Bosch part number for the Volvo mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor)? I don't want to pay 300€ at VW.

Hello,

Regarding the technology of Bosch and Pierburg mass airflow sensors, from the perspective of an expert (?), I found the following:

http://www.audi4ever.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8896&sid=e2d6115ba7d54b26be298e1e3a818012

-> Post from Mabcom, July 1, 2003, 4:21 PM.

If that's true, then I believe everyone should really switch to Pierburg - and if the characteristic curve doesn't match the engine, they should somehow modify it, for example, through electronic corrections.

@GremlinViewing profile: Gremlin:
Has Bosch, with the HFLM 6, approached the technology of Pierburg?
