This would once again prove that eBay is a platform for people who want to get rid of their junk, and it will continue to be so. Unfortunately!
I completely agree with my predecessor. Go to a reputable professional; that's where you get guarantees and the possibility of proper registration!

...to the power box.
.....KW-Systems has saved four characteristic curves on your powerbox. The box automatically detects which engine the box is working with (100/115/130/150) and selects the corresponding curve. I thought it would be similar with the Plugmaster, but I have the option to reprogram the box so that it will also work on my TDI!

'Personally, I would never spend €550 on a power box. Regarding chip tuning, for example from WKR, I consider a torque of over 400 Nm to be critical. The car performs well at low speeds, but it lacks power at higher RPMs, and in that case, the horsepower figure is ultimately more important than the torque.'

It could be anything! But keep in mind that first, you have a brand new car, and second, in my opinion, a high-quality modification has been done.
If you choose to ignore this and do it anyway, that's your problem. But also consider the many other people on the road who you might potentially harm in the worst-case scenario!

Koch is not a cheap tuner; I can, if I want to, have the device inspected and approved by the TÜV (German technical inspection authority) at Koch and registered !!... This topic has already been discussed extensively; I accept and respect your point of view, but I will neither register the device nor allow an OBD tuning !!
Regards,
Monchi.

Okay, now you need to help me: You took apart an Alfa that had been chipped and now you want to put a used tuning box on an Ibiza... honestly, what's the point? With a diesel, it's the torque, not the horsepower, that matters. Have you ever driven a real 150 hp engine compared to your 130 hp one (four-cylinder PD)? Have fun with your chipping.

Hello,
The story almost screams for expropriation!
Compared to the 2.4 JTD, you've already gotten yourself a rocket with the Ibiza; drive the car for a while before you modify it with a tuning box.
In my opinion, a PD TDI engine typically needs around 10,000 to 15,000 kilometers (or miles) to be properly broken in and to reach its full performance potential with stable fuel consumption figures.
A TDI engine doesn't really gain much in terms of top speed and high-RPM performance from a tuning box. If you look at the data sheets on Koch's website, they mention an increase of only 6 km/h. Is that really worth the potential trouble?
Perhaps you should have ordered the new Ibiza FR with the 180HP 1.8T engine instead.
Greetings, Marcus.

Compared to the 2.4 JTD, you've definitely gotten yourself a rocket with the Ibiza.
...definitely in a suit. Right now, if I were racing my Ibiza against that Alfa (which had 171 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque), I wouldn't stand a chance from 100 to 200 km/h.
In my opinion, a PD TDI engine needs approximately 10,000 to 15,000 kilometers (or miles) to be properly broken in and to demonstrate its full performance with stable fuel consumption values.
'...and I constantly hear different opinions; some people say that their TDI PD engine only really started performing well after 15,000 km of mileage, while my friends' TDI PD engines ran perfectly from the first day with stable fuel consumption. I don't know if you can generalize it like that!'
Generally, a tuning box doesn't significantly increase top speed or high-RPM performance for TDIs. If you look at the data sheets from companies like Koch, you'll see that they often mention an increase of only around 6 km/h.
'...I'm not really concerned about top speed; if I were, I would have definitely bought a gasoline car. The acceleration in the 5th and especially the 6th gear is not sufficient.'

'I sent my control unit to Koch today; it will be programmed for the 130PS TDI PD engine, which has a completely different characteristic. I'll let you know when I get it back! Today, I'm going to temporarily disable the EGR (by disconnecting and sealing the hose) in hopes that the engine diagnostic light doesn't come on again!'
