@Roadagain
How does it manifest that more and more oil is coming out of the pipes? Is it like a small flood? Are you also experiencing higher oil consumption?
Best regards, WarLord.

Hello,
Okay, initially I had 10W40 oil in it, and it seemed to be working fine, but now that I'm using 5W40 (which was on sale), there's quite a bit of leakage. There are even fresh droplets appearing on the low-level check.
And at the connections, something also leaks out everywhere.
And regarding the boost gauge, where do you usually mount it? Because I'd prefer not to have to sacrifice a storage compartment, especially since I don't even have a glove box due to the airbag.
Greetings.

Unfortunately, you have leaky charge air hoses and a leaking intercooler. There's likely nothing wrong with the turbo itself.
Best regards, WarLord.

"Well, I wouldn't put a 5W40 oil in such an old engine anyway. It's far too thin. I would say that might also be the reason why it's leaking so much oil. The seals age over time, and if you put very thin oil in them when they're old, it can happen that they start to leak slowly."
But what kind of car is it that doesn't have a glove compartment because of the airbag?
I placed my LDA (likely referring to a license plate document holder) in the center console of my Golf. VW Golf III TDI Avenue, MKB 1Z, EZ96
VW Passat 3B Variant Highline, MKB AEB, EZ98, LPG
Opel Vectra C SW First Edition, MKB Z19DTH, EZ05

Okay, my 1Z engine may only have 152,000 km on it, but I also use 5W40 oil, and there's no sign of leaks anywhere on the pipes or the intercooler. You should definitely check for leaks; that's not normal (especially if there are already droplets on the intercooler). Otherwise, your turbo could fail if the pressure lines can't hold properly.

Hello.
Okay, I've already removed the pipes. Cleaned them and put them back on.
Of course, it didn't achieve anything. I just wanted to see where it came from.
Of course, I don't know if anything has been done to the turbocharger or not. I've only driven it for 12,000 km so far.
I think I'll install a boost gauge and also take out the air leak kit (LLK), verschandeln it, and check if everything is sealed properly. As far as I can tell from just looking at it without taking it apart, everything seems to be sealed.
And regarding the glove compartment: this is a Passat manufactured in November 1993 (model year 1994 facelift).
MaI see.
Greetings.

Hi,
Take a look at the technical article on LDA by Ulf and my construction manual for a digital LDA.

Hello,
'Thanks, I've already seen that. But I'm not really an electrician or someone who does soldering.'
Greetings.
