Well, if you need top speed and a smooth ride, I'm really curious why you ever put your foot in a 4-cylinder car... but whatever.

Well, if you need top speed and a smooth ride, I'm really curious why you ever put your foot in a 4-cylinder car... anyway, I don't care.
Probably because of this: €€€€€€€€€
It's not that I'm always driving at full speed, but it's just that the competitor's engines are supposedly better there. And you have to recognize that, even through the rose-tinted glasses of being a VW fan.
My TDI still has a few more kilometers to go. However, if I have to drive less for work soon, a gasoline engine with a large displacement will be back in the house. The rattling, and especially these constant defects (TDI = Technical Defects Always), are starting to get on my nerves.
Regards,
Manuel.

HI,
Looking at your signature, it seems your engine has been heavily modified. Perhaps those modifications are also contributing to your problems?
I also don't quite understand the statement that 14 km/h feels like "it's speeding away, giving the impression that you're standing still." 14 km/h is roughly jogging speed.
I don't know what you're planning, but even at the top speed of a standard ASV (around 190...195 km/h), I only encounter a few other cars that are faster, and most of those are diesel vehicles. In those cases, I simply make way and that's that. As far as I know, the highway is not a racetrack, and it's perfectly clear that there will always be someone who drives faster.
Best regards,

This turbocharged diesel engine doesn't convince me. There's a reason why Audi is now focusing on common-rail technology. Let's not even talk about the fact that the 3.0 isn't a good engine either.
Regards,
Manuel
I'm not entirely convinced by the PD concept in its current form.
No, I don't drive a PD model, and I can't really judge the interior quality. However, even the sound of a brand new A4 that looks really nice can be annoying if it has the 1.9 or 2.0 TDI engine.
During my test drive with a 2.0 TDI A3, I (as a long-time TDI driver) was reasonably satisfied with the engine's running smoothness and acceleration. However, the 4-cylinder diesel engines from other manufacturers almost invariably sound smoother and vibrate significantly less, including the new Fiat-Opel-GM-and-who-knows-who-else-is-involved CDTI engines.
I'm curious, what's the basis for your statement about the 3.0 TDI that I quoted earlier? Is it the low torque of 450 Nm? I think Audi messed that up with the transmission. In the Touareg, that engine actually produces 500 Nm...

"For me, there are also a few other factors to consider. Like the space available, you need to know how much you need. You should also think about the engine power required to reach your destination. I would also check things like insurance and taxes. The purchase price is also a clear factor. You need to compare the consumption figures and other associated costs, and if you're not blinded by brand loyalty, you can subjectively determine which car best suits you. Neither of them is necessarily bad, as they both represent the top of their class in terms of price, and it seems like money isn't such a big issue. However, I might also consider looking at a class higher."

um... PD with a too short transmission...? How much longer should it be, please?
Well, I think I could still get used to the Ulf gear system.

Okay, I drive a TDI because of the turbo performance; you simply can't compare PD engines with CR engines.
And when we talk about a smooth and refined engine, a V12 is what comes to mind.
Regarding the 1 Series and the A3, I believe the 1 Series is simply a car for young, affluent people. In my opinion, the A3 makes more sense due to its practicality – specifically, its interior space.
