Okay,

AFN control unit installed in my G3 AHU (=1Z) without further modifications (except for WFS connection), and a short test drive around the block was performed: No errors were recorded. It will definitely not work well in the long run or under high performance requirements, but the basic principle still applies;o)

For the past two years, I've been driving my 1Z with the conventional KKK K14 turbo. The turbo is normally controlled by the MSG and N75, so it works icon_razz.gif

Unfortunately, the K14 is significantly slower than the original Turbo from the 1Z, and this is noticeable in the slower build-up of boost pressure in the lower RPM range. But I've gotten used to it, it's okay for me icon_wink.gif
The K14 would theoretically be capable of higher boost pressure, as the compressor is larger than that of the smaller K03 from the 1Z. Practically, I haven't done anything yet, as there's nothing to change.

The former, I still have it somewhere, the latter, I don't.
And whether the curves that have been recorded are still representative, I don't know.
Unfortunately, the engine is nearing the end of its mechanical lifespan. The 150,000 km in the heavy syncro (2.5t) didn't do it any favors, and it was already 50,000 km old when it was installed in 1997.
The engine performance hasn't noticeably decreased; the engine has simply become significantly louder mechanically and is now consuming 1 liter of oil per 1000 km.
