Hi,
"@Thomas: Did you have the air conditioning on or off? This has a significant impact on fuel consumption in idle mode, as do powerful electrical consumers like the rear window heater, lights, and blower motor..."
@ Bertil : I'm rooting for you, hoping a good solution can be found. According to the MKB statistics, the AXR currently holds the absolute record for the lowest number of defects, with only 6 major defects per year.
Best regards,

No wonder that the AXR statistics, at least according to the current standings, are only being populated by a single entry (namely, his own) . Gruß Ulf

Well, I probably wasn't entirely innocent either . Yesterday, I personally drove my AXR onto a borrowed trailer and placed it on the VW dealership's lot. The salesperson (who sold me the car) was completely stunned. After I had loaded the rental car, I drove the whole setup one door further (to a not-so-small Ford dealership). That must have scared those guys at VW so much that my phone rang while I was on my way home, and they offered me a voluntary exchange offer. Unfortunately, the salesperson won't be back until May 5th, and then we will take care of it .

Most AXR units are likely still within the warranty period, so only a few people here can comment on their experiences or lack thereof. Gruß Bertil

Hi Bertil,
"I can imagine that! Just the fact that someone delivers a car with a trailer already makes quite an impression (theoretically, they could have also driven or towed it carefully), but the thing about the Ford dealer... *grin*"
Impressive )
It's sad that one has to resort to such measures in order to get what one is entitled to, isn't it?

... a VW bus with a trailer attached is much more noticeable .
In addition, I was then able to use the VW bus to complete various long-pending transport tasks .

Well, I think if I had made a bit more noise beforehand, or if I had gone straight to a lawyer, things might have turned out differently. But I still hoped that everything would be okay now . Gruß Bertil

Regarding the rough running culture: I can confirm that! My 1Z had a much smoother engagement than the AWX! But in return, the AWX has more power!!!!

@jan6k
'There was no heating on, and all the electrical appliances were turned off. We had previously noticed that the vibrations would disappear or at least decrease when we turned on the rear window defroster, for example. Since then, I've been very careful about these things.'
It's particularly funny that my automatic sprinkler system shows a consumption of 0.7 liters per hour during the initial start-up phase, and then, once it's warmed up, it JUMPS UP to 0.9-1!
Conversely, that seems more likely to me, and that's how it was with the original engine, as far as I recall!
By the way, I envy you for having an ASV; I would immediately trade in my ASZ for a new AHF or ASV.
Regards,
Thomas.

Hi Thomas,
I'm also really glad I decided to go with a TDI engine in time... less than half a year after my purchase, they switched the Ibiza over to PD technology as well.
Regarding the current fuel consumption: My parents' 1.8T gasoline engine shows about 0.8-0.9 in idle, and 1.0 or 1.1 with the air conditioning on. Shouldn't that be significantly lower for a diesel engine?
I need to test this thoroughly with my ASV. Unfortunately, the Seat engine control units display the last recorded value at idle, so I have to do the whole thing while driving at 50 or 100 km/h (depress the clutch, wait briefly, and then divide by 2 if it's at 50; at 100 km/h, it will be accurate).

Hi Jan,
At least with my Audi/VW (VAG) vehicle, the instantaneous consumption per hour can be read out using VAG-COM.
Best regards, Andy.

Hi Andy,
"I'm sure the ASV can do that as well; my comment was more directed at the MFA, which doesn't display that information."
VAGCOM is almost too complicated for that, but I could try it sometime - especially since, thanks to Wi-Fi, I should now have internet access on the farm and even in the car.
