Mein Adapter funktioniert bei mir einwandfrei und problemlos mit einem günstigen USB<->RS232-Adapter von Reichelt und einem recht teuren Adapter. Und das alles unter Windows XP (ja, auch der von Reichelt!).

The only problem I'm aware of is that some USB-to-Serial adapters have issues with the 5-baud initialization sequence in the converter chip/driver.
(edit)and of course the additional timing issue, which becomes increasingly critical with every change(/edit)

Hello, I just received an email from Hermann explaining how to get my adapter to work with the older control unit as well. Tested on an Audi BJ01/93.
Here are the values for VAG-Com: Baud rate 240; Block interval 125; Character interval 3

Thank you again to Hermann and good luck to everyone who is still using old tax systems.

I tried this with my AAT, but communication was broken due to too many errors. As usual. However, the control unit is not even recognized by the optocoupler.
