'The Maiks adapter works perfectly and relatively problem-free for me with a cheap USB to RS232 adapter from Reichelt and a rather expensive adapter, and all of this under Windows XP. (Yes, even the Reichelt one!)'

The only problem I'm aware of is that, with some USB-to-serial adapters, the 5-baud initialization sequence is either corrupted or ignored within the adapter's chip/driver.

Hi, I just received an email from Hermann explaining how to make my adapter work with older control units. It was tested on an Audi manufactured in 01/93.
Here are the values for VAG-Com: Baud rate 240; Block interval 125; Character interval 3.

I tried this with my AAT, but the communication was interrupted due to too many errors, as usual. However, even with an optocoupler, the control unit is not recognized.
