Hi.

I have one more question - if, for example, the bearing ring looks like this, then it should be replaced. Are these parts easy to obtain?

I have an exploded diagram – actually, several – and it would be great if Bosch offered individual parts (which I would almost expect from Bosch!).

Thank you.

Hi there,

The parts would have to be available individually. However, they are probably not cheap.
However, if the tires look like that, you will definitely notice it while driving... And if he's even driving with tires like that, which I highly doubt.
The rotor disc will then look quite bad icon_smile.gif.

The roller ring in the photo is from a faulty pump that I once acquired in order to familiarize myself with a VP37 injection pump.
It wouldn't have been necessary in retrospect, but I didn't know that beforehand.

Regards,
Wool.

Hello.

The disassembly of the VP37 went quite well. The components also look quite good; there are some very slight markings, but I won't do anything about them.

It's more frustrating that I pressed the bearing bushings in. Now the 20mm shaft doesn't fit anymore - the bearings are originally from Bosch and are supposed to be 20mm, but they actually measure about 19mm.
Apparently, you need to use a file to refine the part and achieve the exact required tolerances!

Here's a final note:

Even though I haven't been able to assemble the pump yet because I need to have the bearings custom-made, the components inside the pump, especially those that are often a problem (the rollers, wear on the housing, the springs), look perfect after 350,000 km. There's nothing to do there. I didn't expect that. Especially since the previous owner used biofuel in the pump and it was tuned for performance up to 280,000 km. The only thing that has suffered is the appearance, due to the leaks - I could scrape off the oil layer in layers with a knife.

I just took the pump to a specialist in engines. He's going to grind the bearings for me.
He immediately said, "But that one is broken - because of the marks on the casing - I can't use it anymore..."
Well, I mean, I even think the traces are still very faint in my enclosure, and of course, I'm going to reuse them - they worked perfectly fine until the very end.

"Question: How do you recognize if the furrows are too deep?"

"Thanks."
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

Hello,

First of all, thank you for the help. Here it is, the evil poem icon_smile.gif.
I had to order the key for the evil triangular screw. So, if anyone needs one, I'm happy to lend it out.
So, it also worked out without the colleague that you kicked out of the forum just before we were able to arrange a meeting icon_exclaim.gif icon_eek.gif.

It's practically impossible to achieve those markings accurately without using VCDS, ensuring a precision of plus or minus 0.5mg per injection. Initially, the engine was running at a slightly higher RPM.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to alignment, and I managed to hit the mark within a fraction of a millimeter. However, the reading was 3.3mg/H instead of the previously measured 5.3mg/H (at 68°C). It's unbelievable how precise that has to be. With a few careful taps on the screws that weren't quite tight, I was able to fine-tune it while the engine was running.
Die Anleitung aus dem Forum 'Mengenstellwerk zerlegen' hat die nötigen Tips gegeben. Thank you very much.

Best regards, Kai.
