hello,

I've now also acquired an ABS control unit.
'However, in my case, it's the version E (1H0 907 379E).'
Ist die belegung gleich wie bei der version D? icon_rolleyes.gif

thank you very much icon_exclaim.gif

Hello.

Can anyone tell me where I can find information about the pinout for the ABS/EDS control unit with part number 1H0 907 379E?
I am mainly interested in the K-line and the supply voltage.

In this case, it's a pure ABS system, without Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

This part was originally installed in the Corrado, Golf (1992-1995), Golf Cabriolet (1994-1998), and Passat 35i.

If we're already talking about it, the Passat 35i B4 VR6 had an EDS (Electronic Differential System). Is it possible to simply replace the engine control unit with EDS with one without EDS?

Best regards, WarLord.

Greetings, WarLord.

no.

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) requires the appropriate valve block. Like the ESP, the Electronic Differential System (EDS) must be able to brake each wheel individually. Standard ABS valve blocks cannot handle this functionality.

If the ABS module is the same, it might work. However, if you only have pure ABS (without other features), it won't work.

CU Gremlin.

No, it's about the fact that there will be no more Electronic Stability Control (EDS) in it afterwards, so only pure Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will remain.

Best regards, WarLord.

narf...

In the morning at 9 AM, I still can't read icon_wink.gif.

Yes... yes... yes, now I see it too...

Hmm... theoretically, it should work. The question is whether the plugs fit...
...but why give up on the EDS?
I think this thing is brilliant icon_twisted.gif.

See you, Gremlin.

It can also intervene during operation and individually brake certain wheels.

Best regards, WarLord.

@warlord,

I thought this topic had already been discussed sufficiently in this forum and others. However, this thread is not intended to continue that discussion. I also believed that there were already enough clear and concise answers provided to your question regarding the deactivation of ESP/EDS/etc.!

Okay, so my MSG from the Golf III is also here icon_smile.gif. When I find some time, I'll try to perform initial tests this weekend.

@cluster2

'811 906 264 is from a GX engine; there was no diagnostic capability available for that.'

1H0 907 379 E (ABS/EDS)

I didn't find anything.

@gerbi

1H0 959 656 > 1H0 959 650 > 1H0 959 650 B

also nothing found either...

P.S.: With a little luck, I'll have a CAN gateway and a G5 combination instrument on the test stand tomorrow icon_wink.gif.

I now have three items, but I haven't figured out how to connect them yet...

1K0 920 870 K (Instrument cluster for Volkswagen Golf V).
1K0 907 530 C (CAN Gateway for Volkswagen Golf V)
1K0 953 549 A (Steering column control unit, Golf V)

Does anyone have experience with CAN devices?

Um, I have some experience with CAN, but mostly on the physical level and in programming... unfortunately, not so much in the automotive field (specifically CANopen).

As far as I know, the automotive industry uses the CANopen protocol.

I'm trying to adapt the pin configuration from version D to version E for my control unit.
Theoretically, I only need to connect pin 1,19 to ground, pin 35 to 12 volts, and the K-line to my diagnostic connector.

...but somehow I can't connect, did I forget something?

Ignition plus?

Are all the power connections properly connected?

Just a quick note for those who are interested: I finally found some time and integrated a Golf 5 instrument cluster into the test environment; of course, having the corresponding CAN gateway is a prerequisite.

Some of the devices that use a CAN bus require an activation signal, which needs to be emulated on the bus. A CAN emulator would be helpful, or even necessary, in this case.
