He always fills up with the best and most expensive fuel because the company pays for it.

So far, Optimax and V-Power have brought nothing icon_wink.gif.

@joergs

Did you not immediately and right then put the gun back and tell the gas station attendant, 'You know what? I'm going to fill up at the next one; this idiot is getting on my nerves'?

@gremlin

'No, I held the nozzle of the fuel pump over the tank, looked inside, and said: 'Check the oil, verschandeln the windows, refill the washing water...''
It really pissed him off, and he did it very grudgingly.
I had to stop there to refuel because I was running on fumes and wouldn't have made it to the next gas station.

@everyone
Regarding these 'wonder' fuels, I can't imagine they will sell very well at the current prices. Almost everyone is already complaining about the prices of regular gasoline...
'I was at a gas station in Munich yesterday evening. Surprisingly, Shell was the cheapest option in that area; Jet and other brands were more expensive. The gas station has been selling V-Power diesel since Friday. The price is probably 1.5 cents higher than regular diesel, likely as an introductory offer. I talked to the cashier about this new product, and he said there's hardly any demand for it. From Friday morning until yesterday evening, he had only sold a maximum of 200 liters of it. According to him, other gas station owners in the area are also complaining about the same issue if they have started selling it.'
Perhaps the timing of the launch and the price were simply unfortunate, given a period of extremely high fuel prices.

'Five liters should be enough.'

The gas station attendant once looked at me strangely: '5 liters, is that right? That's so little?' - 'Yes, because I'm driving to Würzburg soon, and the gasoline there is 6 cents cheaper than here.' icon_eek.gif

I always have 5 liters in the trunk - and that's enough to get me to Luxembourg icon_twisted.gif.

And there's no such thing as V-Power Ultimate that will drain your wallet; it's just "DIESEL," cheap and simple, period.

It's strange that there are so many PDs (those old clunkers that some of the older folks don't even recognize anymore icon_wink.gif), and they're all still running.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Post07-09-2004, 13:19    Subject: Superdiesel in the company car Quote

Hey everyone,

I can only tell you that my wife drives a company-owned TDI-PD car, and months ago, there was a strict instruction to stop using regular diesel fuel (whatever it's called), because:

'A potential cost saving that is not verifiable and bears no relation to the additional costs.'

The company operates a fleet of over 600 vehicles, more than two-thirds of which are diesel-powered.

Regarding quality, the entire region east of Poland/Czech Republic uses a more fluid type of heavy fuel oil, and that works fine.

The same applies as with RME: Whoever uses it is responsible for the consequences.
It's just a matter of belief, like many other things – whether it's in the name of Allah or Shell...

Last week, I filled up with Ultimate Diesel because Aral promises reduced soot emissions.
Then, after driving for 20 kilometers, I thought it was time to test the acceleration, emissions (smoke), and noise levels.
icon_arrow.gif Acceleration: remained the same.
Sound: same.
Soot: icon_eek.gif I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me; the AFN had more soot than ever before. I wondered what could be causing it, maybe the potentiometer inside the box turned itself -> No, the setting was the same as before.
Or perhaps because of the cleaning that Aral also promises.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, or does anyone have an explanation for it?

Luckily, I have remote control for the box icon_cry.gif, so it doesn't get too embarrassing. icon_cry.gif

Could it be that Ultimate Diesel requires more air to burn properly?

Best regards.

That would take the advertising argument of 'burns cleaner' to an absurd level...

Because the TDI engine doesn't get more air intake, no matter what you put in the fuel tank...

Hi there,
In our company, it was also forbidden to use premium diesel fuel. People started using their club smart cards and fuel cards to purchase it exclusively. This quickly led to restrictions being put in place because the use of premium fuel only resulted in additional costs.

Greetings.

Eike.

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'P.S.: What do you think the price of gasoline would be if GTL were offered in its pure form?'

Once again, something to spark discussion new_tomato.gif.

'Quote:'

The ADAC measured a power increase of 1.6 to 4.5 percent in the engines, which is not very noticeable during normal driving. Fuel consumption decreased by 1.0 to 5.6 percent (in the two vehicle models mentioned). Emissions showed very inconsistent results and therefore do not allow for any conclusions about a general trend.

The slight improvements come at a significant price increase. However, unlike the premium gasoline varieties that have replaced 'Super Plus' at Shell and Aral gas stations, conventional diesel grades are still available, allowing consumers to choose for themselves.

Now it is up to vehicle manufacturers to offer engines that demonstrate clear advantages over conventional diesel fuel when using premium diesel – in terms of fuel consumption, performance, and emissions.

I wanted to publish the graphic, but unfortunately, I no longer know the password for my server icon_redface.gif.

Best regards, Manuel.

Hi,

We already discussed this a few days ago at our regular meeting... just take a look at the percentage figures.

I'll probably save some money by skipping the heated seats and driving without lights in the morning.

Therefore, this test is nothing more than a smokescreen to me.

Best regards,

Jan.
