It's normal!
Because even when idling, the turbocharger now forces 100% fresh air into the system.
The sound of the turbocharger becomes audible much earlier because the turbo is engaged and working at full capacity much sooner. In some engines, this whistling sound can even be heard when the engine is idling.
The matter only brings advantages, which you have now confirmed...

Turn it on and let it warm up, then look into the turbocharger from the front using a mirror. You'll notice that the turbine wheel hardly spins at all.
You've definitely identified a problem that I've described before. Turbos usually don't fail during operation; instead, they often fail when starting up (and in the case of gasoline engines, also when being turned off while hot). They may appear to fail during operation, but the damage was already present beforehand.
'If the engine immediately loses power after starting, it may be due to a dry oil pump shaft. This not only needs some oil, but also proper lubrication for the shaft to float properly. Test: Reach in (with the engine off!) and turn the shaft, wiggle it around. It should have noticeable side play and shouldn't feel too stiff! That's what the oil pressure does!'
The correct procedure is: Leave the car running for a moment, wait a few seconds, then engage gear and press the accelerator. And if you hear your turbo whistling like mine does, you can also tell exactly when it receives oil pressure.
From my perspective, this is also a reason why some people have to replace their turbos every 80,000 kilometers, while others can drive 400,000 kilometers without any problems.
And to answer your specific question: No, the EGR system does not have a direct influence on the lifespan of the turbocharger, at least much less than your right foot (i.e., how you accelerate)!

Interesting, my power steering pump also makes a slight whistling noise at low speeds, but only when the engine is at least somewhat warm. That's why I don't hear the start of the oil pressure building up.
Approximately how long does it take after a cold start for you to hear the oil circulating?
Is there a noticeable temperature dependence (winter with cold engine / summer with cold engine / engine warm)? Gruß Ulf

I can also hear it when the engine is cold. And if the engine is really cold, it takes significantly longer for the noise to go away.
Even though it's only been up for a short time (about a week), you can already tell.
I'm using 0W30LL oil, which is quite thin and designed to flow quickly.
During cold starts or when the air conditioning is on and there's a load on the alternator, it can also be noticeably louder due to the increased idle speed.
'@ Brösel: Are you sure it's the turbo that's causing this lingering sound, or something else? In my car, I don't hear anything lingering at all. Just turn the key and it's off!'
The turbocharger is only audible due to the gases flowing through it. If those gases are absent, for example due to the engine being stopped, you shouldn't be able to hear the turbo, even if it's still spinning slightly.

It's the same for me when it comes to the charger.
@Crumbles:
Could it be a problem with the timing belt/chain tensioner?
Before parking, try switching on as many auxiliary devices as possible that are not connected to circuit 15 (e.g., interior lights, brake pedal light, etc.).
The potential for a "trailer sway" effect should not be affected by this, and the alternator should be decelerated more noticeably. Gruß Ulf

It's incredible the noises that the engine makes all the way to the gate.

Immediately after starting, it becomes quiet again.
And when driving up the 20-meter driveway, you can hear it before the typical high-frequency sound.
a similar but slightly more muffled sound to a screaming turbocharger.
'Fauchen,' which doesn't occur randomly, but precisely before the typical...
It develops a screeching sound, like that of a loader. (From this, I infer that it comes from the...)
(Turbo is coming.)
After driving up the driveway, sometimes a little later on the road.
You can only hear the typical sound of the turbocharger now.
Can this still be dry after the engine has been running for about 20 seconds?
Are turbocharger shafts available?

Regarding the issue of turbo lag (same whistling noise).
Regarding what I can contribute from the beginning, here's what I can offer.
I generally let the engine run for about 2-5 seconds before turning it off.
Run without gas in the LL (Low Load).
If I run the engine at full load before shutting it down...
Accelerate with full boost (including intercooler and increased turbo pressure) for 1 minute.
By slowly maneuvering through the 30 km/h zone, you can usually stop about 2-4 seconds later.
Detecting turbocharger operation. (Is it ever going down? The control unit is already switched off.)
If I choose a normal driving mode for the entire journey, then...
You can barely hear anything from the turbo when parking.
Okay, keys out and quiet. (Aside from the uneven way it runs out.)

Hmm, strangely enough, I can barely hear our loader. I only hear the typical noises (the whooshing) when it's under full load. When it's cold, I might still hear the whine of the VTG, but that's all.

Yesterday, I disassembled a whistle.  I couldn't find anything inside that could produce such a strange sound. } There's just a ball inside, but it was very quiet. }

Are you satisfied with the answer "mechanical and gas column resonances"?
Mechanical resonances can be caused by imbalances in the rotating components. In the case of gas column resonances, the situation is more complex. If you measure the frequency of the whistling sound, you can certainly establish a relationship between the impeller speed, exhaust temperature and pressure, and the compressor/turbine blades (this is just an example; there are likely many other factors involved).
