TDI Injector Pump Wiring Diagram

What is the difference between an 8-pin and a...?
the 10-pin pump connector.

Now, don't go saying that one has two more connections! *grin*


I would like to connect an 8-pin HOPA box to a 10-pin...
'Plug in' the fuel injection pump and ask about it!

As far as I remember, contacts 1 through 7 are assigned the same functions.
The 8-pin connector had pin 8 free. The second 3-pin connector on the "older" pump has been integrated into the 10-pin connector on the "newer" pumps.

Does anyone know where the pump cable is located on the 74 or 85 kW PD engines? I know these aren't VE systems, but there must be some kind of wiring that tells the engine control unit how much fuel is being injected. Sorry for the silly question, but I'm just curious!
