Hello!
I need to identify a Garrett turbocharger that can replace the original turbocharger of a Passat 3B (1997) AFN (110 hp TDI).
The original loader has the part number: 028145702C, or QC (replacement part).

Now we have received a brand new Garrett turbocharger (via eBay), which is indeed from Garrett (original box), but it doesn't have the VW-Audi logo or the original part number on it. What do you think about that? How can you identify the turbocharger using the Garrett number to be sure that it is the correct one icon_rolleyes.gif?
The loader is from the year 2004 and has the following number: 454158-3, IC70504W.

I also hope that it's not a disadvantage that the charger comes directly from Garett and is not an original VW part icon_rolleyes.gif.

Thank you for your help.

Greetings.

Hello,

Okay, so if you can't access Garrett Specifics through the internet,
Then you can put the photographed type plates on eBay.
compare the original VW up for auction with yours.

Isn't there something like 'VNT 15/17/20' listed somewhere for you? That's independent, right?
'regarding original equipment manufacturer (OEM) identification?'

Greetings.

Hello!
Okay, here it is again. I haven't found anything online, but I've looked at the original, old turbocharger (Made in France) again. It's a VNT15 with the number 454158-1, and the new one directly from Garrett (Made in U.K.) has -3 at the end of the number and looks exactly the same, at least visually. But, in my opinion, that doesn't necessarily mean anything, because according to the documentation, there are at least 3 different turbochargers originally available for THIS engine type, depending on the vehicle's production number. icon_rolleyes.gif

Who can help here? Does the above-mentioned loader fit 100%? Not just mechanically (it certainly fits mechanically), but also in terms of its specifications.

Thank you.

Greetings.

EDIT:
Okay, I found something here. But it's not directly from Garrett. I hope the list is correct icon_rolleyes.gif.

Hello,
The two chargers, 454158-1 and -3, are absolutely identical.
The -3 is a service loader.
"However, your specification of 'Gt15' cannot be correct, or the part number is incorrect."
It must be a GT1749V model.
See also the attached document.
Regards,
Schneirk.
