If the pump stops drawing water, there are usually only two possible causes:
1) The diesel supply should be located before the ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator).
The pump is broken.
No one will be able to give you a definitive diagnosis, but the first option is more likely.
First, check the fuel filter and diesel lines. Also, try to open the fuel cap. Finally, you can put both diesel lines of the ESP into a 5-liter canister filled with diesel and crank the engine. If that works, it's best to first flood the pump with diesel.
If the ESP is pumping but no fluid is being injected, check if power is reaching the shut-off valve of the ESP.
Therefore, you can check many things without having to disassemble the ESP...
