Audi AEL 4A0907401P Login Error?

Hello everyone,

I'm unable to access the engine control unit using VAG-COM. The vehicle is a 1997 model.
'The standard login code 12233 doesn't work; the connection drops, and I have to turn the ignition off and on again before the connection is restored. There's no error message indicating that I've entered an incorrect login code. Yes, I have a VAG-COM license and a really great interface adapter for it. Otherwise, the communication works without any problems.'

The login mentioned only applies to 4-cylinder diesel engines; your 5-cylinder engine requires a different one.

@Besswerwisser: The AEL is a 5-cylinder engine.

But the login code is already correct. However, I don't have a good solution for your problem right now.

I'm bringing this up because it's mentioned in the forum, and it works for me. Since the specifications of the AAT and AEL are identical, except for the configured parameters, it should work.

Rudi is probably more correct in this case.

I have both of them here... but they vary quite a bit depending on the specific model.

Logins are usually selected randomly. If the MKB (engine code) is correct, the login will also be correct. However, this does not apply in cases where the engine control unit or fuel injection system generation changes. While trial and error is not the ideal solution, I personally do not believe that a publicly accessible list of logins would be useful.

80% of the logins/security accesses have no impact on the normal diagnostic operation; they are used for flashing or other access methods that are, in principle, irrelevant. Others are downright dangerous, while still others are only truly useful at the end of the process, such as the readiness acceleration.

What happens on your end when you enter the wrong login? Does the connection drop, or do you get a message like 'Incorrect login'?

Anything is possible (depending on the tool and control unit).
If none of the login attempts are successful, I would suggest stopping before trying any more.
Try to always turn off the traction control system.

I want to reduce the AGR (Abgasrückführung) rate in my ECO-tuned AEL engine by increasing the target air mass. (From a technical article). Unfortunately, none of the 5 login attempts worked. I would also appreciate a private message.

I would be surprised if Rainer didn't completely disable the AGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). Otherwise, you can also physically block the AGR on your car with a piece of metal, as it's not monitored.
