Here's a guide for the basic equipment needed to install daytime running lights on a Volkswagen Golf IV, specifically for users in Austria.
Okay, so this circuit works in a way that the low beam headlights only turn on when the engine is running (as long as the alternator is functioning correctly).
You will need a standard normally closed relay, which should be connected as follows:
First, remove the light switch. Then, plug a cable with a connector into the socket at TFL (17/3), and connect this cable to relay number 30.
A cable from relay number 87 is connected to terminal 56* (17/7) of the light switch.
Relay number 85 to ground.
Connect a cable from relay No. 86 to the D+ line (located in the wiring harness from the engine compartment, blue cable, 0.5 mm²), connecting it behind the relay carrier.
PS: I'll be installing it soon in a Golf IV with better equipment (and therefore more wiring), and I'll post the pictures here. However, the D+ cable should be in the same bundle.
Do you also have the basic electrical diagrams for your images, ideally with the circuit diagrams? Have you marked your modifications on the diagrams with a red pen?
