Hello.
During Easter, I finally found some time to go through the user manual for my new Skoda Octavia II. I came across two functions that I couldn't find on my car, even though it should have all the necessary features.
1. Automatic exterior mirror dimming.
2. The right exterior mirror automatically lowers when the car is put into reverse.
The vehicle has an automatically dimming rearview mirror, which, according to the owner's manual, is a mandatory feature for function 1, as it houses the sensor for measuring the light emitted by the vehicle following behind.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with a parking assistant, reverse gear

, and electric exterior mirrors, so that nothing should actually prevent the lowering of the right exterior mirror. Also, the adjustment knob for lowering the exterior mirrors was set to the "R" position, as the manual specifies.
And now, the limitations:
1. This vehicle is a re-import from the Netherlands.
"Unfortunately, I have discarded the Dutch instruction manual, so I cannot check there whether the functions mentioned above are possibly deactivated for Dutch users and not included in the delivery."
Since the Octavia II incorporates Golf V technology, I studied the SSPs (Service Service Publications) for the Touran and Golf V over Easter to see if there was any information that could be helpful. Unfortunately, I found nothing. I also used VAG-COM to check the relevant control units to see if the missing functions could be unlocked under "Adaptation" (it's often possible with the central locking system). I didn't find anything there either. Does anyone know which control unit needs to be activated in what way to enable the exterior mirrors to automatically dim or to have the right mirror tilt? I'm not sure if I can get the "dealership," which is now also responsible for vehicles from the Czech Republic, to help me with my problem. After all, it's a somewhat undesirable re-imported vehicle

. However, I will try contacting them in the next few days.
