HI.
After the first screw immediately snapped off when I tried to turn it, my question is:
How do I get these VA screws out of the crumple zone of an Opel X14SZ?
He needs a new hot air duct.
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Hello Martin,
Hopefully, it's not permanently embedded (cast into the mold).
Does it help if the exhaust manifold is very hot?
Then the screw should be easier to loosen.
Caution, don't burn yourself with this.
Best regards, Jochen.

As I said, the first attempt was a complete failure.
Therefore, I wanted to gather some practical experience first.
When I did my 1Z head "back then," everything went smoothly, and it certainly didn't look as corroded as this Opel part does here.
How about:
- Apply rust remover.
- To drive aggressively.
- Unscrewing attempts

Hi there,
"In similar cases, I've often used a torch to heat the bolt; this causes it to expand slightly if it heats up faster than the manifold. Whether both are hot or cold might yield almost identical results, and for fun, you could try comparing the thermal expansion coefficients of V4A stainless steel and gray cast iron."
Due to the presence of vanadium and aluminum in the gray cast iron, it is particularly prone to corrosion. If it has corroded too much, there's not much that can be done other than breaking it off and drilling it out.

Actually, it's the opposite. With Opel, I have never experienced a broken stud on the exhaust manifold/head gasket, whereas with VW, it's almost standard.
Try using a rust remover and then gently tap the top of the screw head with a hammer (a small hammer). If none of that works, you might have to drill it out and re-tap the threads; sometimes that's faster than spending hours trying to loosen the screw.

Apply CRC Rust Flash; it will prevent rust from penetrating due to the cold.
Or weld an M8 nut onto it and tap it out while it's still hot; ideally, preheat the manifold first.

Whenever I encounter something like that, I always heat up the manifold with a torch and tap on the screw. It's helped me many times before.

Okay, I've removed the screws.
I just need to drill one more hole.
And there are other reasons to suspect something:
