Can you rule out the usual suspects?

- One of the fans has failed, level 1 is not active.
- Defective temperature control flap actuator.

At least on the G IV, both of these things can happen, as the Leon isn't that different technically.

The diagnostic tool didn't report any error codes, and the actuator diagnosis seemed plausible based on what was heard and felt.

Last night (it's quieter then), I could hear quite distinct flow noises in the refrigerant circuit. The hissing and gurgling sounds were still audible for some time after turning off the engine, and they clearly came from the area of the air conditioning system.
