When my clutch is warm, it starts to slip. It's especially noticeable when I've been driving in the city for a while.
The more the clutch is stressed, the stronger the jerking becomes. In other words, the more heat is generated, the more it jerks.
When the clutch pedal is pressed, it makes a creaking sound. When the car is stationary, a squealing noise can be heard from outside after about halfway through the pedal's travel. When the engine is running, only the creaking sound can be heard inside the car.
The pedal was already squeaking before the clutch started to slip.

It's possible that the clutch is worn out and no longer providing consistent friction. Normally, they should last for at least 200,000 km with reasonable driving, but that's relative. I doubt there's a defect in the master or slave cylinder, but it should be checked.
If, when starting, you press the pedal far enough that the clutch begins to engage, and then it jerks (without you pressing the pedal further) during the automatic engagement (which happens automatically as the engine speed approaches the vehicle speed or the car starts moving), I suspect the clutch is defective. | 3B5 AJM

I will test it.
How can I actually test the master and slave cylinders? Does it require them to be removed for testing? A4 Limu 07/96 AHU@110PS 192tkm 08/05-05/08

"Mine does that creaking sound too, but it doesn't pull or tug."
The creaking is also clearly dependent on temperature.
"But it's been happening for a long time now (I've had the car for over 100,000 km and it only disappeared at the beginning), and the clutch should still be the original one – with 227,000 km on the clock."

Hello bastion,
"The clutch judder issue is also occasionally discussed in the Passat forum. There probably isn't a 100% solution for it. My Passat is affected by this problem as well."
Following a tip from some diesel mechanics, I tried the "burn-off" method – starting in 3rd gear until it starts to smell bad.
It actually helped for about half a year. However, you wear out your clutch quite quickly that way.
Bye.

The creaking could also be related to the pedal's mounting rather than the clutch itself. In that case, replacement is probably the only solution (greasing likely won't be a permanent fix). Unfortunately, I don't know if the mounting parts are available separately. I have the same issue, but it doesn't bother me, so I've never taken it apart. Aktuell:

Nope, Antje .
The squeaking I'm hearing definitely comes from the clutch, because you can't hear the pedal bearing squeak coming from the clutch bell.
It's probably a worn-out thrust bearing, or the two contact points where the finger presses against the A-bearing are too dry.

Take a look through the inspection hole in your clutch housing.
I also experienced clutch judder, vibrations when starting, and a very short pedal travel before reaching the engagement point.
Dual-mass flywheel and release lever defective.
"When the clutch started squeaking while starting uphill at 150,000 km (previous four owners), we could see through the inspection hole that there was no more friction material visible on the clutch disc. After that, we completely replaced the dual-mass flywheel (DMF), pressure plate, clutch disc, and release lever -> problem solved."
In my case, the costs were quite high (1,600 euros), but I will get them back because I sued the dealer for a price reduction. He refused to acknowledge that the dual-mass flywheel (DMF) was defective, couldn't fix the starting problems that had existed since the purchase, and ultimately didn't want to. For that, I paid 600 euros above the list price for a '1-year full warranty'.
greetings,
macro

I wasn't referring to your specific situation, but rather to that statement.

It sounds like there's a creaking noise coming from the pedal and a squealing sound from the clutch, so it seems we have two separate issues. Aktuell:

Ah, okay, then I misunderstood something.
@makro
I highly doubt that the AHU engine has a dual-mass flywheel (DMF); as a 1Z-engine variant, it's very unlikely. Transparency, Teamwork

It depends on the year of manufacture; the first ones didn't have one. From engine number AHU *200 001 onwards, it should be a 2MSR. 028 105 266 A .

I checked it. No pulling/tearing present.
I submitted the GKB (CPC). It should indicate whether or not it has a ZMS.
EDIT:
Could it be that I might have low transmission fluid?
EDIT2:
Regarding the squeaking noise: The squeaking is coming from the master cylinder. You can really feel it when you press the clutch pedal and touch the "push rod." A4 Limu 07/96 AHU@110PS 192tkm 08/05-05/08

If you're sure the noise is coming from the master cylinder itself and not being transmitted from the clutch, I would start by replacing the cylinder.
I still wouldn't get my hopes up that she will stop doing that afterward.
Six weeks ago, I replaced the slipping clutch on a Go4 with 318,000 km (from Luk to Sachs). The dual-mass flywheel (DMF) was not replaced at the owner's request due to cost considerations.
Result: No more inflammation present.

Of course that could be the case, but it has nothing to do with plucking. 3B5 AJM

Yesterday, I noticed something else. If I repeatedly press and release the clutch pedal without engaging a gear, the squeaking goes away for a short time.
Also, if the clutch slips after driving in the city, and if I continue driving for a while without shifting gears, the slipping stops. A4 Limu 07/96 AHU@110PS 192tkm 08/05-05/08

So, if it has a viewing hole, then it is covered by a round rubber cap, approximately 8x4 cm in size.
Right on top of the clutch housing, closer to the engine than to the transmission.
There's even a small handle on it for opening.
Unfortunately, I don't have a photo available at the moment.
