Hey everyone,
I'm on the trail of my turbo lag issue. I recently started a thread here about it, and was close to just removing the turbo altogether. After reviewing Ulf's article on adjusting the VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) mechanism, I had the idea that my "VTG open" stop might be misadjusted. And it seems like that's exactly what's happening. After feeling around with my fingers (it's incredibly cramped in a Golf 3), I immediately noticed that the screw is completely loose and can be easily turned with just a finger. That shouldn't be the case.
How can I best access it without removing the charger? Are there any standard measurements for how far the screw should protrude from the bottom? How could this even happen, despite the locking screw and the paint?
Greetings.

So, no one will probably ever know how this screw came loose. Maybe there wasn't enough paint, it got too hot and the paint softened, someone might have tampered with it before, or (most likely) due to vibrations.
Due to the cancellation. You might have to try something else, or perhaps the information in this post will help you.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English. Just paste it here, and I will give you the translation. Aktuell:
