Hello,
So, my problem starts with the cold season.
I also have the TP5 remote control.
What I need to say right from the beginning is that the STH (presumably referring to a specific component or system) was installed by me.
Okay, now for the problem: It's annoying because sometimes it works perfectly, and other times it doesn't work at all. I always get different error codes when it refuses to start. I've completely disassembled the device numerous times, cleaned everything, and checked it, then reassembled it. Great, it works fine for a few days. But then it stops working again. As I mentioned, the error codes I read using the TP5 remote are very varied. Sometimes it's just the flame sensor, then suddenly it's the control unit. Ten minutes later, it works perfectly again. Currently, the problem is that the heater isn't even pumping diesel. It starts making noise (the fan), but doesn't ignite. The relay for the interior fan is also not switching on at the moment (although it's not broken).
Maybe someone has some tips for me.
Best regards,
Franz

Hi!
Have you tried searching for "Eberspächer D4WSC"? There's a post there that might be helpful to you. Apparently, Eberspächer control units are actually quite prone to problems...

Hello.
Did you really install them according to the instructions?
I've often encountered self-installed components that were not installed in the correct orientation.
"installed!"
Or, out of convenience, simply tapped into the diesel line somewhere, and didn't...
They installed a separate riser pipe inside the tank.
Then, problems like the ones you described could occur.

Hi,
The thermostat housing is definitely installed incorrectly. I thought it was just a problem with bleeding the coolant. I always installed it in the correct orientation for bleeding (because of the bleed screw) and then turned it upside down when installing it.
Could that be the cause...? Why does it sometimes work then?
Best regards,
Franz

@ Franz79
Hello,
Can you describe how to use the TP5 remote control to display the error code?
can be read out?
It would also be great if someone knows how to unlock the restriction.
can be done if you don't have a VAG-Com. Is it also possible to do this with the hand-held device?
I am grateful for any help and tips.

Hello.
TDI mechanics!
I fixed the issues with my BW5 SC using the brilliant guide for the TP5.
I have errors in the following: F 130, F230, F330?
Where can I break these down?
Thank you in advance.

Hello.
I figured it out myself.
Error code 030.
Is the burner motor not working?
How can I find out more about them?
Best regards,

Hello.
Bug fixed.
The auxiliary heater had been removed.
It was quite quick to do. I disconnected the two hoses, unplugged the connector, and removed the exhaust pipe. I left the air duct connected. I unscrewed the long M6 bolt on the side of the heater, and then the heater almost falls out of its bracket.
After opening the upper black plastic cover of the heater, I first checked the electric motor. I connected a 12V battery, and the motor worked. Next, I examined the round beige fan of the combustion air blower. This was a bit stiff. Dirt, sand, and debris had accumulated under the fan, making it difficult to turn. I could hear the sand crunching underneath as I turned it. After blowing everything out with compressed air and applying some oil, the blower started running smoothly again. After reassembling and installing the heater, it started up immediately! This was the source of the problem. The control unit completely shuts off the heater with even the slightest resistance. The cause of the error is a lack of sealing between the upper and lower parts of the housing. Over time, dirt gets in because there is no seal. I will address this soon by using special silicone sealant.
